At least around here, the connections can also burst up to 12mb / 16mb respectively. You also get a discount if you're a cable subscriber (again, at least around here), any package. I'm not sure if it's still true, but when I checked, it was cheaper to buy basic cable and broadband, than broadband alone. Regardless, expect to pay at least mid-40s monthly.

Comcast has actually followed through with their rated speeds next to religiously, here in Western Massachusetts.

I clicked that Verizon link, it certainly looks compelling, especially those uplink speeds which Comcast can't touch. But they only offer lower-speed DSL in my area.

There's nowhere I can't reach.
