R-Type Final's (PS2) stage six "Dimension Jump" heard through a really good stereo system is as epic and powerful as one can get. Together with the visuals on the screen it gives you the feeling that you are really there.
EDIT: The Guardian Legend for the NES had many sweet tunes you could really feel when heard through good speakers. Jam it back in, in the dark.  Fight Like A Robot!

Anyone familiar with "Dire, Dire Docks" from Super Mario 64? I remember when I first reached the water stage with Bowzers submarine...I just sat there because it was so moving...
