Huge thanks to BIGWORM for the YSI files. I'm downloading as we speak so I too can enjoy the crazy awesomeness that is Mugen.
Quick question, I've tried Google and whatnot, but what is a good site to get a lot of quality characters and levels that one can download and add to the roster of this game? Jam it back in, in the dark. ![]() |
Sweet, managed to download the YSI files from BIGWORM, but I can't help at being overwhelmed.
There are many folders here that I see could be used such as all the different screenpacks in the data folder and all the misc files in the misc files folder that it comes with. So my question is this, for someone who is totally new to this Mugen thing, and since I have it already downloaded and ready to go, what should be the first couple of things I should do? I figure I could delete the stupid characters that I don't want, and try and get a cool screen pack going, but everytime I try to do that it messes up the game. Also, I can play the game with the full screen and such, but I hear you can download a WinMugen patch to play in windows, but when I do that does that mean I have to transfer everything over from the WinMugen folder into the new Patch folder? I'm so confused. ![]() There's nowhere I can't reach. ![]() |
Sweet, got everything to work now. Now I'm just adding as many cool characters and stages as I can.
This is pretty sweet to match up Super Goku against Megman X and watch the battle. Now if I could only find out how to make controllers work... How ya doing, buddy? ![]() |
Alright, I've been adding music to my stages, and as it does play, the sound is very choppy and it stutters a lot. I've tried different plugins by editing the mugen.cfg file, but so far I haven't found one that plays the music clearly without stutter.
Does anyone else have this problem and if so know how to fix it, or for those of you who have the sound working perfectly, what plugins do you use? Most amazing jew boots ![]() |
Thanks for trying to help Woo, I did go into the config and set that, but the music still plays choppy.
I'm tried using the in_mp3PRO.dll and in_mp3.dll plugins, but those didn't work. Then I used the in_mad.dll and the music plays, but its all choppy and I can't figure out how to make it play smoothly. :eyebrow: I was speaking idiomatically. ![]() |
Whoot, figured out that I just had to lower my hardware accelaration on sound and now the music fits perfectly.
Now all I have to do is configure my controls for a PS2 controller and download more characters and stages. :ninja: How ya doing, buddy? ![]() |
Sure, setting your hardware sound acceleration is easy as pie. Just go into Control Panel, Sounds and Audio Devices, go to the tab of audio.
Then click advanced and go to performance, and drag the hardware acceleration all the way to the left. That should fix things up for you. ![]() FELIPE NO ![]() |
Hmm, this gives me an idea. Since we probably shouldn't post links to much Mugen sites because of bandwidth...Yousendit to the rescue!
Here is a cool stage to use, it's from Contra 3! http://www.yousendit.com/transfer.ph...2EDF772DD3679D What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? ![]() |
Wasn't trying to deny the creator's work, I just thought I would not link the site since there is that whole anti-mugen thing going around. o.O

What are the settings that you use? Also, here is a cool character I found: http://www.yousendit.com/transfer.ph...6CF05F21AD4EDA It's Ruby Heart from some Capcom game, can't remember which one though :P How ya doing, buddy? ![]() |
So far so good on finding characters, however I wonder if anyone has or knows where to get a Shinobi character, and also if there is one, a Captian Falcon Character?
This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. ![]() |
I agree Tokubetsu. :eyebrow:

I've searched around on places like StreeMugen and Randomselect, but I still can't find a lifebar that fits my taste.
Anyone know of any good sites that specialize in nothing but different Lifebars of shapes, sizes and genre's? I was speaking idiomatically. ![]() |
Thanks Lazy Guy, I will check that out.
Also, does anyone know how to make the songs for one's stage loop instead of only playing once into silence? WooshaQ I know you know! ![]() What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? ![]() |
![]() FELIPE NO ![]() |
Hey Woosha, I was wondering. Is there perhaps some program where you can dump all your character folders into it and it will balance the strengths of everyone?
I ask because some characters that I have are totally overpowered and take down as much life on a single punch as someone else's super would do. If that doesn't exist (which I can imagine it doesn't, that would be too easy :P) I wonder, how do you edit each character to make it somewhat balanced? Is it even worth it? What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? ![]() |
Must keep thread alive!
Found a cool link, check it out: http://www.mugenchina.org/phpwind/?skinco=english Has lots of cool characters to download and great stages from many people. Enjoy! Double Post: Also, I'm curious as to what the difference using "software" or "hardware" makes when you change it in the mugen config? Most amazing jew boots ![]()
