Left 4 Dead 2 - 40 points: While I haven't really had the epic stories about this sequel that I did about the first, I've also not played it as religiously as the original. The new game mechanics were tough to work out for the first week, and I know Daravon was with me that first night where the game was *impossibly* difficult. Like - return to store in anger difficult.
Ghostbusters - 30: God everything about this game is great great great. It was like they asked me at age 8 what I'd want in a GB game and did it far better than should be possible. My single complaint is that I'd've liked a little bit more of an "open world" like the beginning of the game which feels like you're doing random jobs. The story is okay, but the idea of a free-roaming GB game is too good to pass up.
Borderlands - 20 points: I like the idea of this more than the actual result but I've also only played MP once with a friend. I like its sense of humor and its not quite real, not quite comic book design.
Chronicles Of Riddick: Assault On Dark Athena - 10 points: The amped up the difficulty on this WAY too high but the game is so goddamned great. So goddamned great. Deeply satisfying gameplay. Never cared for the MGS games really, or Manhunter or whatever - but the whole sneaking around in this game works REALLY well.
Special Mention to Batman: Arkham Asylum and Dragon Age Origins. They're the ones everyone will talk about for years to come but I never cared for either game very much. I just started playing DA:O so maybe I'll warm to it yet but Batman was very "been there, done that" with better games. I'm also not a big fan of the Gears Of War design on a lot of the stuff.
Jam it back in, in the dark.
