I'll admit I'm not a huge Final Fantasy fan, but I really want this one. It just seems a lot more mature than previous installments. I'm surprised everyone is talking about FFXIII when all we saw of that was a tiny ass trailer, and here we have what looks like an excellent game coming out later this year.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

Are you all professional VAs or something? I'm asking because I didn't hear anything wrong with the voices. So maybe it's just my untrained ear. I watch a lot of anime, and play a lot of video games and I found the English voices in that trailer to be perfectly fine. Far better than previous SE titles.

Couldn't the same thing be said of all the people who seem to already be worshipping it?

I wasn't even talking about you lol. I've never read any of your posts on the matter. I was just saying that an awful lot of people are already obsessed with the game, and we know nothing about it almost. So if you're going to attack him for passing judgement, I think those people should get the same treatment.

I have no idea what your position on the game is, and honestly don't really care. I didn't mean any offense.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

He was in Spy Kids so that obviously means he'll do a bad job! It's not like we'd actually judge him based on his performance in the game.

So, don't say that the actor will be bad. Just because you base it on some movie. Whether or not you've seen the trailer. You really can't say anything bad about him. As you never heard him fully in FFXII. But rather just some trailer of E3.
You do know I was being sarcastic right?

I'm with you on the people who for some reason can't accept that there is such a thing as good English voice acting. I personally do prefer subtitles, but that doesn't mean I'm going to act like "English voice acting is teh suck omg!!11!" Yes, Japanese voice acting tends to be better, but from listening to that trailer, and even hearing it perfectly on G4, it sounds great. Nitpicking stuff like how someone says "dare" is ridiculous.

Just preordered the CE at EB. I don't want a repeat of what happened to me with the limited edition of Subsistance.

Basically it was very limited. They stopped taking preorders on the Subsistance LE like a month, maybe less, after they announced it. Even then some people didn't get theirs. That's why I went right out and put my $5 down this time. I'm sure FFXII will be more popular than MGS3.

It should be smooth. I've preordered a lot of games, and never had a problem. Just have to make sure for things like special editions, you do it early enough. The only time I didn't have an easy time was with GTA: San Andreas. Only because it was a 3 hour wait in line for that game, and that was the preorder line! It was easy in the sense that I got my copy when I got to the front, but damn that was a long line.

Just to let you know, most games do not come out on the "release" day. The date publishers give is the ship date, and 90% of the time the game comes in the next day. Only really big games actually arrive on the ship date. Games like GTA and Halo 2. The FFs do sometimes as well. I remember FFX-2 did. I was told the game would be there at 7pm (talking about GTA here), got there at 7 and there was a huge line.

If it's the case that your EB/GS gets it on the ship date, it won't be there until around 7pm or after. Just call on Oct. 31 and they'll tell you if it'll be in that day or the next. It depends on the number of preorders they get. If they get a lot then the store will pay for same day shipping.

(Selling a single game can't take long so even if there will be line already you will be there in no time.)
Trust me, there will be a line. Not as long as a GTA or Halo, this isn't Japan as you said, but there will definitely be one. There was one when FFX-2 came out. So if THAT game had a decent sized line, FFXII should have one. Of course that depends on where you live too. Video games seem to be quite popular here. As long as you have it preordered you're all set. You can go anytime you want and pick it up, as long as it has arrived of course.

Unfortunately we won't know about its rarity until it's too late. We'll know when they say they're not taking anymore preorders.

If you really liked X you will probably like X-2. Just expect some character differences, a bit more comedy than usual, and more cheerful music.

The longer the delay the better the game.
I'd say the opposite. If you liked X, don't torture yourself and play X-2. That game is awful, and it will make you cry. Cry because of how they raped your favorite characters.

You guys seriously have to preorder stuff?
I definitely do. You don't preorder something like a FF game, you will not get it day 1. Video games are very popular where I live. As I mentioned earlier, big games can have lines over 3 hours long.

I was speaking idiomatically.

I hope it's an artbook. I love artbooks, and they are nice things to put on living room tables for when you have company.

Definitely not the law in the US. I worked at EB, and we got games the day after the ship date unless there were a lot of preorders, and we'd get it on the ship date.

As I mentioned earlier in this thread, the date companies give is the SHIP date. That is NOT the date that you will get the game 90% of the time. Expect the day after.

You could use "roxxor" in the demo. It was a spell one of the summons used, and yes the name is horrible.

I don't see why more people don't preorder. If you change your mind you can get your money back. If you know you're going to be buying the game, put the $5 down. Not only do you make sure you get your own copy, but preorders let a store know how popular a game is. Therefore you increase the amount of copies available for others.

It's your call.
Exactly. I don't live in a small town either, and usually the EBs and GSs around me get more than enough copies. I still see no reason not to preorder something if you're going to buy it anyway. You lose absolutely nothing. Not to mention if something happens you're still all set. Final Fantasy X is a good example. A limited amount of it was released early, and those people who had preordered it early enough got those copies. And yet another example was the MGS3 Subsistance limited edition.

I work at Gamestop, and we definitely have a sku for it since you can preorder from us. It's $29.99.

Also we got some of the CE cases in today to use as a display. The case is really nice. A lot nicer when you see it in person.
