For all the PC fans out there without the xbox360 (well I'll never buy it for that even if I did have one), here's an official guide on the hardware requirements to run Oblivion. It goes into some detail listing out various components and then giving a brief overview of what we should expect the game to run like. All I can say is that I'm glad I won't have to upgrade anything for this. Sure it won't run the game if full everything and at the highest rez but should be fine. The only thing left to do for me is go out to buy a decent speaker setup so I can fully enjoy this game (and various other stuff as well ). Can't wait.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

I didn't seem like Balmora was a city to me, just a busy village of sorts. A city doesn't take you a few blocks to reach the end which is Balmora. Something along the size of Vivec would be more of a city.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

Just got the game and played a few hours. The game runs fine on my hardware (AMD 3000+, 1G RAM, 6600gt) at medium to high settings and looks great. Haven't gotten into any big battles yet but areas with many NPCs is OK.

Unless I totally overlooked it, one thing I don't like is the interface and how it won't let you display any of the windows ontop of the actual game like in Morrowind. I usually like to have a tiny map in the corner, and even maybe several other windows open depending on the case. But now it looks like to me the interface was designed especially for the xbox in mind. Just because a TV screen would handle all this detail like crap is no way to take it away from the PC version. There's also no map zoom (well not that I have seen) which I thought would be standard. I hope a patch or mod gets released so I can do exactly these things.

Another thing which I thought was odd was the boundaries of the game world. Morrowind was good since it was surrounded by water and I don't think I ever tested the boundaries. In this one going to the boundary gives me a message saying I can't go there. Why not???? Would have been better if they made it somehow impossible to reach that boundary to make it somewhat more realistic.

Other than these few quirks I have (which are probably pointless anyway), I think the game is great and I can see many hours being wasted. I don't see any PC game on the horizion which will gain my attention for a while.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Sleep is only good for recovery. If I need to do something at a particular time then I use 'wait'. Why bother trying to find a place to sleep when I can do the same thing at the destination I want.

How ya doing, buddy?

The more I play the more fun this game is. Right now I'm just going about aimlessly doing whatever mission comes by and getting up the ranks in the mages guild. The hours are counting and I haven't even touched the main quest yet. Need to join the thieve's guild soon though with all the loot I'm amassing

I was speaking idiomatically.

Geez, what's your game time like? I've done about 10 hours gameplay and am level 5.

Wish I had time to play more of this game, but a full time job and now further study ontop of that doesn't do me much good

What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now?

Best game ever??? I don't know about that. I am fully enjoying Oblivion but there are plenty of things that could be improved.

One thing that bugs me is the time scale of the game. If you go off of the main quest and start doing other stuff, and only do other stuff then there should be consequences, but instead it doesn't really matter as you can always go back to it months (possibly years) down the track and all will be the same as you left it.

I find 1:1 to be a bit too much of a good thing, although if it would use the CPU clock I might start making use of that too, since I'm already used to it from Animal Crossing. The original setting (30:1) is just too fast for me, it feels rushed.
Precisely my point. If there wern't issues with the game then people wouldn't go out of their ways to make mods for it to make it play better, which is one of the great things about this game and the PC version. Sure the game isn't perfect (and nothing is) but the way some of you people are going on about it, it's the best game ever or something.

It's leaps and bounds ahead of Morrowind but for me, something to be a best game must have something really outstanding, and Oblivion to me is just an improvement but by a lot. I haven't seen anything that really has wowed me like when I first loaded Morrowind up.

And what urgency is that? I've been stuffing around for months now in the game world and I have yet to see the gates of Oblivion spill open.

What, you don't want my bikini-clad body?

Since you obviously have the PC version with all those mods, just dump the mp3s of whatever you want into the data/music directory and depending on your mode of the music the appropriate folder. I've got pretty much my own collection in there as I did for Morrowind as I think their's is quite limited considering the scope of the game and the time you'll actually be playing it.

Of course I'm sticking to the themes of the game and using only medievil sorts of music.

As for the xbox 360, well I dunno if you can do that.

There's nowhere I can't reach.
