I agree that Oblivion is ahead of Morrowind by far, with the improved graphics, larger world, speech. However it just doesn't have the same effect as Morrowind when I first played it. I clearly remember I had uni exams back then and I still went out of my way to play the game. The game just came out of no where for me, when one of my friends said 'check this out'. I was just amazed at how they could create a full 3D world. To me Oblivion is just an improvement over Morrowind.
Of course this is just the gameplay aspects of it, and only what I've experienced and maybe the story which I really have no idea about at the moment except for right at the beginning, will make up for what I think is missing from a *best* RPG.
Now to the actual thread, best PC RPG for me would have to be Diablo I/II. Once I started on these games I just couldn't stop, especially with Diablo II. So simple and yet so addictive.
