One of the non official reasons I've seen cited by other players is that if BEs had Warriors, they'd basically have everything that the Forsaken have, plus Pallies. So by not allowing Warriors it keeps them somewhat different from the Forsaken.

Although having 4 races that can be a hunter on the horde side is a bit of overkill....

I'm begining to worry that Alliance will continue to be favored for having an overall better balance of the number of races that can be a particular class.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

Some interesting tid bits from that article. 25 person epic raid level content sounds like it might be a nice change of pace. I'm sure interested in seeing if the drops will still be balanced against what folks can get from the current 40 mans in the game, but considering that most of the gear that you can get from 40 mans will be considered average as you level to 70, it may just be a non-issue.

Sounds like PvP could become fun again too, with the currency based PvP system instead of the insane 10 rep per BG based system.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

I haven't been following all the "leaked" news so far, but here's the expansion talent/spell listings from the official WoW site.

At the time of this posting, the priest, druid, and hunter classes weren't available for viewing yet.

* Two World of Warcraft Trading Card Game Starter Packs, plus Exclusive Cards
* Map of Outland Mouse Pad
* World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade Soundtrack CD

heh, can't wait to see what the whelpling looks like.
Looks good. I hate to say it, but I'll probably end up getting it just because I got the Collector's Edition of the original release of WoW. I'm such a collection junkie sometimes. There is stuff in there that I'm really looking forward to such as the art book, and making of DVD (Haven't even watched the original one yet though heh). Hopefully the collector's edition won't cost any more than $60.

Go into your WoW folder. Then go to WTF/Account/<AccountName>/<ServerName>/<CharacterName>

Inside this folder should be a chat-cache.txt file. Try deleting that and see if it resets your chat channels for you. Alternatively, you can delete the WDB and WTF folders entirely, but that resets everything on all of your characters.

I (hopefully) got in on the pre-order deal through Amazon where it'll only end up costing $60 IF they ship it to me. I read many reports about Amazon screwing people over with stuff like that, so I pre-ordered through Best Buy's website which was only about 5 bucks more just to be safe. If I get both, I'll just return the Best Buy copy since I'm not one of those folks who feels like gouging out someone on eBay.

I'm also doing ground shipping since I know it's going to be pure chaos on release day, and I'd also rather just wait until most of my mods are up to date since the expansion is breaking all of them with its new LUA version.

Good luck with that guild . Building an endgame raiding guild can be one of the hardest things in the game. Especially if it's a guild that wants to more casually raid in endgame. One of the best feelings in the game is downing a boss for the first time.

I tried starting on PvP and it's just too damn annoying. Trust me, if you have a full time job going on, you might really want to consider PvE. There's nothing more annoying than to log in to chill and pass some time enjoying WoW, when BAM some level 60 hunter and his lame ass cat jump out of nowhere and gank you.........and gank you again............and again..........and again........and OH WAIT! You've run out of time for the night. Gee, THAT was fun! </sarcasm> Leave PvP to the BGs, enjoy PvE the way it was meant to be. On a Normal server.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

Anyways, it's a moot point, as I already started playing on Illidan:

I only suggested it if you have other things to attend to IRL (like a job) that prevent you from power gaming yourself up in levels. Anyways, have fun getting ganked by Alliance in Hillsbrad.

Sure, there are new dungeons which have smaller groups but that's no excuse to make my job harder and more boring than it is currently. I went looking for a straight-forward answer and it sounded like Blizzard wanted people to go back to playing whack-a-mole with health bars.

And don't even start about the priest class talents - some sort of worthwhile holy talent or a better definition of the class trees would be greatly appreciated, but instead we get more shiny talents to distract from the real work that it deserves.

Have fun with the expansion. I know I won't be back.
I know your pain, and it's exactly why Blizz helped solidify me to continue leveling my horde druid, instead of returning to my alliance priest.

Now don't get me wrong, I don't like a mod or something making all the logic choices of what rank of a heal to cast and all. What I'm mainly interested in, is a UI that just allows smarter targeting so I'm not wasting so much time clicking on someone and then selecting the heal from my hot keys. At least Blizz didn't totally ban click targeting mods like Clique entirely, but this has pretty much made my plan to look into going more of a PvP route with my druid and all my future characters a better looking one than raiding. But we'll see. My horde druid isn't even level 60 yet, so I have plenty of time to figure where I want to take him.

But seriously, is it just me, or does Blizz have no freaking clue of what to do with the Priest Holy talents? The "new" talents that priests received for the expansion seemed so boring and yawntastic that I'm tempted never to play the priest class ever again. 1.10 made it seem like Blizz had some ideas for where they wanted to take the priest class, and it filled me with so much hope that maybe they could make healing in raids less of a monotonous task. Too bad that doesn't seem to be the case since talents like lolwell and Improved Death are still in the tree.

The other part of it, is how I got tired of my old alliance guild in which I and many other priests were busting our asses with a Healing spec while everyone else was specing how they wanted because the guild wanted to be flexible to all playstyles. That's not Blizz's fault since the guild just had a bunch of moochers who waited for the hardcore raiders to get an encounter on farm status, and then they'd start signing up to ride the coat tails, but I guess it just reinforces how healers can become burnt out so much easier than DPS classes when we're constantly having to help gear up new people because the guild was too casual and other folks leave over little and big issues alike.

I guess it really depends on the situation. I find that any encounter that is pretty much on farm status to be very monotonous as a healer because I usually don't have to do much in the way of healing. It's mostly renews, and the occasional GHeal. My fondest healing memories are either when first learning an encounter, or when something goes wrong (i.e. bad pull, fleeing mob drawing adds, etc.), and how I was able to pull either all or most of the group through the whole thing with my healing. I always got a nice adrenaline rush from those situations, that normal healing can lack at times.

My main complaints about the Holy tree is that it just didn't seem to offer many talents that gave me this "I want to try that!" feeling like the 1.10 patch did. It just has this recycled feel to it, and thus why I'm leveling a Druid at this point (that and I've always wanted to level a Druid anyways).

I was speaking idiomatically.

I agree overall about how silly the Forsaken look with their armor being cut off where it is. It's for that reason why the only Forsaken character I've made so far that have gotten bored with has been an (admittedly cliche) Undead Lock. The robes help cover up the legs and such, and the exposed parts at the elbows don't look as bad. Plus I just love running around with Mini Diablo, and my Demon pet. It just gives off this Warlock feel more so than any living Warlock class would for me.

Same here. I don't know how one of my other friends manages to level so fast all the time. Every time I try to level faster, I just find the game to get tedious and mind numbing. That's probably why I only had 1 60, and my next highest is my 53 druid. I just can't play like that, it feels too robotic like.

The LFG channel is sort of coming back in the next content patch per the CMs. However, it will only be viewable and chatable if you have the LFG interface open. Nice catch there eh?

If Blizz would turn off, or just get rid of Auto Join from the LFG interface, it would make a lot of folks happier. Too many people leave that on by default when they shouldn't, and that's what's causing problems with the way the tool works. That auto join crap didn't work when they tried the original idea of meeting stones (for all 2 people who used them) and it still doesn't work now.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

....

Solo optional instance?

Players in good standing with the Consortium will be tasked to deal with the most recent activities of the nefarious Ethereum. With new quests, items, and content for the solo and small-group level 70 player, the Ethereum Prison will be the proving grounds for many aspiring to greatness.

Maybe I'm reading that wrong...
It's just Blizzard's usual clever use of wording trying to mislead you. My translation of that is, if you're revered/exalted with the Consortium, you'll be able to buy (yet another) key into that dungeon, as well as access new quests for the area outside of that dungeon.

And I know how you feel Dagget with guild drama and poaching like that. Had it happen to my old Alliance guild where some pissy babies decided to have themselves a little behind the scenes backstabbing planned, and then launched it literally almost taking every decent player from the guild. How the guild managed to survive is beyond me, but to this day I look at all of them as ungrateful asshats. I can't even believe some that are still in my old guild call those that left for the other one "friends". Oh yeah and get this, their tag line is "Skill has no substitute, friends make it fun!" Yeah they sure know what the definition of a friend is.

Actually what made me entirely mad too now that I remember reading about black temple from the link is this.

Pallies/locks don't get a free/quested flying mount/special mount while the druid gets a questing for the epic flying form + 4g spend on a flyimg form.

That is what pissed me off.
On the other hand, druids never got an epic travel form through a quest/free so it does kind of balance out.

I'm surprised they didn't nerf priests more since it was clear they hate them in the previous couple of patches. More buffs to Circle of Suck of course. They're really trying hard to sell that as a "good spell". They FINALLY applied a resist mechanic to Pain Supression. Sure took them long enough to figure that one out. A nerf to Shadow Word: Death, meh don't care since I haven't touched my priest in 6 months so I never got to use the spell and get an opinion on it.

Everything else just looks like bug fixes that they should've taken care of in those other minor patches where they decided to go glee happy in nerfs instead.

Overall I'm still considering putting my account on hold since it comes up for renewal this Monday since I've recently gotten Guild Wars and been enjoying that a whole lot. At least they released these before it renewed so I have some time to ponder this.

All of this has made me wonder if, as a long time and day 1 player of this game, I've become too jaded towards Blizz. When looking at the game as a whole, it really is an awesome thing they've managed to pull off. Even though the vast majority of the content they added in the pre-expansion days was all raids, the world has certainly developed from what it was back at release.

But at the same time, it just feels like they could be doing more. After all this time, it feels like they're just dragging their feet and spending all their time trying to think up different ways of holding players back from progressing too fast (which is what an MMO is about but still). It feels like they've completely run dry on ideas and now they're just trying to use existing mechanics (rep grinds, mat grinds) to keep people playing the game while they try to think up their next long dungeon.

The game just is starting to feel like it lacks vision to me. It's as if Blizz has become so complacent in all the grinds they think up, that they don't want to try anything different, or risky. They just want to keep playing it safe, until they finally lose enough subscribers, and then they'll launch WoW 2 or something to try to pull everyone back in with more of the same just with prettier graphics.

Even with all of that said, I don't think I'd trade the time I've spent with many friends who have come and gone in this game for anything. They truly have been the ones who have made the game what it is for me.

After reading some of the best faked patch notes ever, I wouldn't be surprised if this is fake. Especially considering how they mention the siege weapons in PvP and stuff, which was originally scheduled to have been in the game a long time ago, and then kinda faded away. Same thing with the hero class, though originally I think it was where your existing character could choose to specialize in a certain hero type of class, this talks of creating an entire new character.

Either way, I think it's at least a given that this is taking place in Northrend, which I'm glad about as the Scourge and their plague has always been of more interest to me than the Burning Legion.

There's nowhere I can't reach.
