You know, I had the exact same problem. Mine was due to the fact that it was a timed battle, and it relies on reaction commands. I had the auto-limit on for Goofy, which wasted a LOT of time, and usually resulted in me failing. I turned that off, and I activated the ability that allows you to counterattack in by hitting square after being hit. These both helped enormously in that fight, if it's any help.

Wait a sec. Wild Dance is the only way you'll beat the time limit. Don't unequip Goofy's Limit, Knocksmash. It can be a pain, but that's the only way you're going to beat Demyx when he's got 25% of his health left. Demyx was kicking my ass too, but if you use Knocksmash once the battle starts getting closer to the end, it'll be a lot easier.
Jam it back in, in the dark.
