Hahah!. New Haven, here I come! I've been watching this thing sine you first started touring, just waiting for a location near enough for me to get to. New Haven... close enough. 3 and a half hours of driving is a small price to pay to get to see this. I'll probably go to the Boston one, too, since that's even closer. I imagine that this is the sort of thing I'll want to experience more than once.

I just paid the full $70 for two of the best tickets in New Haven for me and my girlfriend to go to the show. I can't wait. I look forward to meeting you there if I can manage it. Is that likely? I can't imagine you're that accessible at these things - you've got to be one of the busiest men alive on show day.

even a performance at Yale University (with the Yale Symphony) in New Haven, CT.
So it would be a different orchestra at the New Haven show? Or do you usually switch the orchestra around a bit from location to location?

I'll keep spreading the word - I'd hate for my readers to miss out on this because they didn't realize it was happening.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

Yeah, there's a group of kids from my college who were going to go to the Play! concert in Hartford. When it got cancelled, all five of them bought tickets for your New Haven show instead, on my recommendation. Not that they needed to be told; they're as excited about this as I am.

I know GDC was keeping you busy, but when you get the chance, I had sent an email to your VGL account.
I sent you a message as well, here at GXF. I completely understand if it's not on your list of priorities, of course, and you don't have the time/inclination to look at it. Just thought I'd make sure you got it.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

Special events surrounding the show include a video game industry educational panel to take place on the Yale Campus the day before the concert – Friday, March 30th. This special panel event is open-to-the-public and there is no charge. The panel entitled “Video Games – Past, Present & Future” will consist of industry veterans Seamus Blackley (XBOX creator, game designer, CAA), Lorne Lanning (OddWorld Inhabitants), Hal Halprin (IEMA, ECA) as well as Video Games Live creators and industry composers Tommy Tallarico (Earthworm Jim, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater, Metroid Prime) and Jack Wall (Myst III, Myst IV, Jade Empire, Mass Effect). The event will take place in Sudler Hall on the Yale University Campus from 3:00PM to 5:00PM.
Daaamn. Friday? I wish I'd known about this a few weeks back, I could have arranged my plans so that I'd be there on Friday. Too late now. What is this going to be about? I might have to change my plans anyways.

Will Seamus Blackley be around on Saturday as well? He's someone who I would love to meet.

I met Martin Leung last E3. Cool guy. He played the Dark Overworld theme from Lttp for me.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Damn, if you'd just had the Montreal how this past week it would have coincided with the Montreal Games Summit and I would have been able to attend. Alas, I am too broke to go up to Montreal again in just a few short months.

Hmm. I'll be trying to find a way to sneak up there in the meantime, at least. Maybe someone I know will be attending...

Your flyers were everywhere. I would have been hard-pressed to avoid them if I tried, heh. They were put on every seat before at least one of the keynotes, in piles on a lot of tables, in the tote bags they gave us, and probably a few others places I'm forgetting. I tried making a paper airplane out of one, but sadly it didn't work out too well.

I was speaking idiomatically.

I'm two hours south of Montreal, at Champlain College in Burlington, so... close enough to easily get there, but too far to really be familiar with it's ins and outs.

I could probably get you connected to Champlain's Burlington campus though, if you were interested. Nothing but game design and art students there, so they'd be interested. Not too many people there though, so it might not be worth your time.

What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now?

Mr. Tallarico, you may have already addressed this elsewhere, but in an interview you gave to enthusiast site n-sider (apparently after a VGL event?), you answered as follows to a question:

Did you ever clarify exactly what you meant by that final statement?

Wow, somebody outside of the immediate community actually read the interview I conducted. You just made my day, Dais.

I just thought I'd stop by and mention that I just bought ten tickets to the Burlington, VT show in January - I wasn't kidding when I told you I'd drag my entire family to one of the shows, Tommy

I can't wait to see it again.

What, you don't want my bikini-clad body?

Hardly anyone outside of game music and Ace Combat fans have even heard of the Ace Combat series, let alone know it's music. Although I personally would prefer some nice Megalith over OWA, I'd hazard a guess that more than 90% of VGL attendees wouldn't recognize it. Which means it would be ludicrous to replace OWA with it, or any Ace Combat track. For many, a large part of the attraction is the nostalgia., the memories, and the power that game music has to evoke the same feelings as the game.

Not to say that OWA shouldn't be replaced, of course. It should. When I go to my third show, I really hope that I don't get the same exact OWA track to top it off at the end. But... I'd understand the reasoning if I did.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

Tommy, just wanted to stop in and congratulate you on the Ambassadorial Award you won at the GDC awards. You deserved it. And I also wanted to say that your speech after wards was phenomenal. I don't know that it would work as well for someone watching it in a recording on youtube or whatever, but for those of us who were there it was definitely the strongest speech of the night.

Absolutely. I've been to the concert twice, and would gladly go again.

How ya doing, buddy?
