I've noticed that people in relationships will always bring up the fact that they're with someone. Whether it's a name, or the title of "my boyfriend/girlfriend", the chances are they're gonna mention it. It sounds really lame, but being a University student I tend to find a lot of guys on facebook and that's how I figure it out >_>. Other than that, just talking to them and then flat out asking once it's gone past the awkward introductory stage.
