Demashitaa! PowerPuff Girls Z

I just watched the first episode of this last night, and I must say that I didn't really like it that much. I wasn't the biggest fan of the original, but the changes that they made to it were a little too drastic for me. I wasn't expecting an exact clone of the original (that would have been even worse), but I was expecting them to keep a little more that what they actually did.

The main thing I didn't like was that the girls aren't sisters anymore. Since they're just three random girls from off the street, it changes the whole relationship between them, and not for the better in my opinion. If they had at least kept that part the same, I probably wouldn't have minded some of the other changes that much (like making them older). But with this core change combined with the others, it just makes the show seem a little more generic.

Even looking at this show without comparing it to the original, I still didn't like it that much. The transformation sequences were really long (hopefully they'll combine them in future episodes), most of the jokes weren't that funny to me, and the OP/ED sequences were just alright. Hopefully they can improve on some of these things, because I still think the show has a lot of potential. I'll still watch the show, as I want to give it more than just a one episode chance.

Eh, I wasn't expecting that much from it, I was just hoping it would be somewhat as good as the original (which basically has the same target audience). I don't know though, I haven't watched the original show in like two years, so maybe that show is not even good to me anymore (I just remember it as being good from when I was younger).
