I've only seen random episodes from throughout all the seasons, though I've mostly been avoiding season six in preparation for watching the DVDs (so far I have seasons 1 and 2). I'm hoping that maybe I can watch all of the show before the next season airs, but that probably won't happen.
Anyway, I heard the news about the Palladinos leaving the show, and unfortunately I think that's gonna hurt the show. I mean, it sounds like they were the life of this show, as they wrote, produced, and directed the majority of the episodes, so I don't see how it can be as good as it is now (though I heard that this season hasn't been that good) without them. Not only that, but it's gonna start on a new channel as well? Even if most people weren't saying that the next season is gonna be the last, it probably would have been anyway.
But overall, I think a lot of people don't give this show enough credit. I mean, it has too many factors going against it (being on the WB, people stereotyping it as a "girly" show), so most people never get to see how good this show is. It has some of the best writing on television (especially the dialogue), great actors (especially Kelly Bishop as Emily, who you just love to hate sometimes), and is just a great show overall, but sadly a lot of people don't realize this.
Jam it back in, in the dark.
