Brain Age: Train Your Brain in Minutes a Day! and Big Brain Academy

So these are two of the popular "brain games" from Japan that are coming to America. Brain Age is out as of this week, and Big Brain Academy is set to come out next month.

What are your thoughts on these games? Nintendo says they are targeting these games more at your average joe than regular gamers, so that turn you off from playing it? Do you think it just looks stupid regardless of who they're aiming it at? Does the concept seem interesting to you? Have you played them, and if so what is your opinion of them?

I just got Brain Age yesterday, and I must say that this is a pretty good game (or non-game, as some people are calling it, just like Nintendogs and Electroplankton). It's just little diversions that supposedly help keep your brain sharp, so there's no harm in that. And at $20, that's not such a bad deal.

I even got my sister (a gamer) and my mom (a non-gamer) to play it as well, and they both enjoyed it a lot. My sister liked playing against me in the multiplayer, and she also learned how to play sudoku (she had never been interested before) because of this game. My mom liked the different games, but she especially liked the sudoku. She already plays it all the time on paper, but now she likes this version even more.

Because this game turned out better than I expected, I'm definitely gonna be getting Big Brain Academy when that comes out, and probably any other "brain" games Nintendo decides to bring over here. As long as they keep being fun, cheap, and fresh, I don't see why these games couldn't continue for a long while.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

All you have to do is write one letter in each box. I have no problem doing that, but it screws me over because it can't understand my letters sometimes. I wish they had an option so you can just erase one letter instead of the whole word.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

So has anyone gotten Big Brain Academy yet? I haven't played it yet, but I hear that people like this one more than Brain Age, especially in regards to the multiplayer. So anybody have any thoughts or opinions about it?

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

I finally got around to playing Big Brain Academy today, and I must say that I like this game more than Brain Age. The activities are just more fun in this game, and the multiplayer doesn't even compare to the lousy one in Brain Age. If you have Brain Age, get this game anyway, and if you don't have either, you should probably just get this one.

And I don't know about the rest of you Brain Age owners, but the only thing I basically use my copy for is to play sudoku.

I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body?
