I just got Resident Evil: Deadly Silence today. I was gonna wait a while before I got this game, but since I wasn't spending real money on it I figured 'Ah, what the hell' and just bought it. It was either that, Super Princess Peach (which I've seen my sister play, and didn't seem that good), or Super Mario 64 DS (Which I've seen for way cheaper than $34. Even though I wasn't using real money (I had some Sam Goody Replay Rewards certificates), I still didn't want to overspend on somrthing I could get cheaper), so I picked RE. I wish they had a better selection (they admitted they had a shitty DS section) to choose from, like some recent releases (I so would have got Metroid Prime: Hunters or Tetris DS if they had it).
How ya doing, buddy? ![]() |
I just got Metroid Prime: Hunters today. This will probably be the first Metroid game that I actually finish (well, I did finish MP: Pinball, if that counts). I'm still hoping to be able to go online sooner or later, because what little I have played of the game seems totally badass!
There's nowhere I can't reach. ![]() |
I could have sworn I posted this already, but yeah, I just got Guilty Gear Dust Strikers today. I managed to play it for about half an hour, and while the game was pretty good, the controls take some getting used to. Like most of the reviews say, the main problem lies in turning to face your opponent. They made this way more difficult than it had to be.

I picked a few games at Gamestop today. For the PS2, I got Red Faction II. I just finished the first one a couple of months ago, so I'll probably be playing this one soon, especially since I liked it more based on the demo of it I played of it. For the DS, I bought Trace Memory and Puyo Pop Fever. Trace Memory was cheap, and it looked pretty good, so I decided to get it. Puyo Pop fever was cheap as well, and I mainly got it since it had single card multiplayer.

I just picked up GTA: Liberty City Stories for the PS2 and Tetris DS today. I got them both from Circuit City, since they were both on sale (GTA for $15, and Tetris DS for $23).

Man, I was went to go get Dragon Quest VIII for $10 last week, but they were sold out by the time I went there. Hopefully they do that again soon, as the cheapest I've seen the game other than that was for $30, and that's too much to pay for a game that I probably won't play anytime soon (since I'm already backlogged with about 10 other RPGs at the moment).

I recently bought Super Monkey Ball: Touch and Go and Viewtiful Joe: Double Trouble for the DS. I haven't played VJ yet, but SMB seems pretty meh so far from what I have played of it, which was mostly just the minigames.

A few weeks ago I bought Big Brain Academy and Killer 7, and today I bought Pac N' Roll.
I wanted BBA after playing Brain Age and enjoying that game. I had heard from reviews that BBA was better, so of course I wanted to see it for myself. I must say, it's definitely better, especially with regards to the multiplayer (I had way more fun beating my sister in this game than I did in Brain Age). Killer 7 is a game I've been wanting for a while, but I've just been waiting for the price to go down (translation: I have way too many games already that I need to play, so there was no point in getting the game new when I probably wouldn't play it until six months to a year later). I finally saw it new at Gamestop for $15, so I finally decided to bite down and get it. Of course, I haven't played it yet. No real story for Pac N' Roll. I had a $5 reward coupon at Sam Goody, saw the game going for $15, and decided that $10 was a good price to pay for the game, so I bought it. What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? ![]() |
I finally bought Mercenaries today. I played the demo of the game well over a year ago, and I had really enjoyed it then. Of course, I had a backlog of games back then (which I still have now), so I figured I might as well wait until it was cheap until I bought it, because I knew it would be a while until I actually played it. I had a $10 of coupon at Best Buy, and the game was $20, so I figured that was cheap enough. I know I'll like the game, I just don't know when I'll actually get around to playing it.
Jam it back in, in the dark. ![]() |
I was at a thrift store the other day, and I saw near perfect copies of You Don't Know Jack Vol. 2 and Vol. 3 going for a $1 each. I quickly picked them up,as this seemed like a pretty good deal. I had just finished downloading a bunch of YDKJ games too, so I don't even need them as I have the real versions of some of them.
There's nowhere I can't reach. ![]() |
I bought four DS games this week, bringing my total number of DS games up to 32.
Best Buy had Sonic Rush on sale for $15, so I definitely grabbed that. I've been meaning to get this game for a while, and at $15 I couldn't pass it up. I went browsing at Target the other day, and they had Mr. Driller: Drill Spirits and Ridge Racer DS on clearance for $10 each. Mr. Driller is another game I've been wanting to get for a while, so to find it for this cheap was a guaranteed purchase for me. As for Ridge Racer, I just saw it there right next to Mr. Driller and figured what the hell, so I bought it too. I've never even played a Ridge Racer game before, so I was willing to try this out. And finally, there was a store in town that finally had a copy of Deep Labyrinth. I would have got this game when it first came out on Wednesday, but no store in town had it. Finally, two days later, a few stores in town got some copies. One of them was a block away from where my mom works, so I asked her to pick it up for me. Now that I finally have, I'll start playing it soon.
This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. ![]()

I went way overboard on games this week, especially DS games. Needless to say, I don't see too many other games being bought in my future.
I bought six PS2 games this week, all at Circuit City. They had Jak X, Ratchet: Deadlocked, Shadow of the Colossus, and Sly 3 all on sale for $15, so I totally jumped on that offer. While there, I also saw The Getaway: Black Monday for $7, and since I already have the first one (though I haven't played it), I figured why not get it for this cheap. And finally, I saw Suikoden Tactics for $10, which also seemed like a good offer. As for DS games, I bought eleven of them this week. While at Circuit City, I saw Tony Hawk's American Sk8land for $20, so I got it just because. Also, earlier this week I ordered Electroplankton online for $35 (been wanting it for a while, since it looks pretty interesting, despite its flaws), so that should be coming soon. And I just bought Star Fox Command earlier today at best Buy for $30. The rest of the DS games I bought at Target, and they were all on clearance for $5-$15. Some of these games I don't actually care about, but I just bought them because they were cheap. All of these games are: Asphalt Urban GT Greg Hastings Paintball Tournament Max'd Pokemon Dash Rayman DS Retro Atari Classics Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 3 Ultimate Spider-Man World Poker Championship Deluxe Series Counting Electroplankton, I now have 43 DS games, which is way more than I expected to have for not even having the system for a year yet. I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? ![]() |
I only bought two games last month, Cooking Mama and Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Blue Rescue Team. Cooking Mama was awesome, though it didn't take me long to do everything in the game. Still, for $20, it was definitely worth it.
As for PMD, I bought it at Circuit City when it first came out, since they were selling it for only $24 (compared to Gamestop selling it for $35). I'm still playing it now, and while I'm definitely enjoying it, it's making me want to play one of the regular games since I haven't done that in a while (since Pokemon Silver, to be precise). I might actually go out and buy one of the GBA games (either Ruby or Emerald, since my sister already has Sapphire) just so I can play a traditional Pokemon game, and so I can actually know who some of these Pokemon I keep running into in PMD actually are. I was speaking idiomatically. ![]() |

I've bought a whole bunch of games between yesterday and today.
Yesterday, I bought Devil May Cry 2 ( ) and Mario vs. Donkey Kong 2: March of the Minis at Circuit City, and the first Mario vs. Donkey Kong at Gamestop. I know everybody says DMC2 sucks, but it was only $15, so I figured that was cheap enough to see how much it sucked for myself. As for the MvsDK games, I played a rom of the first one and enjoyed it, so I decided to finally get it (I had to get it used at Gamestop for $20, since no one seems to have it new), since the second one was on sale for $24 at Circuit City. And today, I was at Wal-Mart, and they had a whole bunch of games on clearance, so I picked up quite a few of them: Pokemon Ruby and Leaf Green: I never played any of the GBA Pokemon games, so while I had planned to get Pokemon Emerald, I couldn't pass up getting both these games for a lower price ($20 for Ruby and $10 for LG), since I heard you need both to get most of the Pokemon. Mario Kart Super Circuit: Aside from Double Dash, this was the only other Mario Kart game I never played, so for $10 I figured it was worth it. Super Mario World - Super Mario Advance 2: I played some of this with a rom, but I've never fully played it. People keep saying this is one of the best Mario games (though I didn't really see that with the rom), and it was only $10, so I figured I would give it another shot ths way. Final Fantasy IV Advance: Never played this game at all, and it was only $15. People seem to really like this FF game, so that seemed like it was worth it. Champions - Return to Arms: I loved Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance, and since this was made by the same people I figured it would be good. I did play a demo of the first one, which I'll probably try to find now so I'll know what's going on in this one. Also, it was only $8. Mad Maestro: Bought this for my sister, who loved the demo years ago. It was only $6, and it would make me look nice in the process! What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? ![]() |

But anyway, yeah, I obviously got Clubhouse Games as well, and this game is so freaking addicting. The single player is great, because the computer usually makes a good opponent (not too hard to beat, but not too easy either), but the real fun is with the multiplayer. Playing this against a real person might just be one of the best DS experiences you can get, and with four different ways to do it (DS Download Play, Local Wi-Fi, Worldwide Random Wi-Fi, and Worldwide Friend Wi-Fi), there's no excuse for missing out on this. Seriously though, this is like the best Wi-Fi game on the DS. You have all these games to play (I think about 37 of the 42 games are playable online), Pictochat when playing with friends, and the best part, THE GAME DOESN'T END WHEN SOMEONE DISCONNECTS (a CPU opponent just takes their place)! This will probably be the best Wi-Fi game on the DS until Clubhouse Games 2 comes out! ![]() And the next time we play naz, the SILBER Squadron is gonna gang up on you! There's nowhere I can't reach. ![]() |
Just read this article on IGN about Disney Meteos, and it doesn't have any Wi-Fi support, which is a massive disappointment. Some of the new features do sound interesting though, like the new vertical way of playing ('sup Brain Age), and the fact that you can move pieces horizontally. This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. ![]() |
Just picked up a shitload of DS games from the Toys 'R' Us "Buy 2 Get 1 Free" sell.
The Rub Rabbits: Been wanting this since it came out, but I've just been waiting for the price to drop. Since that still hasn't happened yet, I just decided to get it now. I loved the first game (more than Wario Ware: Touched), so I know I'll probably love this one too. Nanostray: Unlike most people, I actually liked Iridion 3-D on the GBA. It was the best game, but it was still fun. I never played the GBA sequel, but I found out this was made by the same people, so same difference. Magnetica: Another DS puzzle game, like I actually need another one. This game looked pretty interesting though, so I decided to give it a try. Megaman ZX: I've been hearing good things about this game, and it looks pretty cool. I've been waiting for a sale like this to pick up this game (since there were no first week sales like there was for Pokemon Mystery Dungeon and Mario vs. DK 2), so when one actually came up I promptly picked it up (and it was the last copy, too). Mario Hoops 3-on-3: Same thing as above. Magical Starsign: I've been looking forward to this game for a while (thanks to my sister), so the only reason I waited until today to go down to TRU was so that this game would be out. Except for Magical Starsign, all these games were $30, so I wound up saving $60. After I got home with all these, my sister was pissed that I didn't pick her up a copy of Magical Starsign (it's not like I could have, since I didn't have enough money to cover two more games, which is what I would have wanted to do so I could get another free game), so she gave me some money to get it for her. I combined that with the rest of my money and went back to TRU to do the deal again, this time getting: Magical Starsign (Again): This time for my sister. Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time: I still haven't even played the first one, but I know I'll like them both, so I didn't hesitate to get this. Dragon Quest Heroes: Rocket Slime: I've been hearing good things about this game as well, so I knew I wanted to get this. The reason I didn't get it the first time was because I didn't see it until the last minute (I had already switched Harvest Moon DS for Magical Starsign, which I also didn't see at first). All those games were $35, so I saved $35 on this trip, meaning I saved $95 in total (and I only spent $160, which wasn't that bad). The only game I went there specifically looking for but didn't get was Contact, but I figured that would be a long shot anyway since it seems pretty hard to find at the moment. Overall, I'm pretty satisfied with all the games I did manage to get. How ya doing, buddy? ![]() |
Anyway, today I bought Contact and Pokemon Ranger at Best Buy. While there, I saw they were selling some games for less than $10, so I just went ahead and bought most of the ones that I didn't have. So I also got Pac-Man World 3 (DS), King Kong (DS), and Real Time Conflict: Shogun Empires. One thing I found weird while at Best Buy was that they had a Naruto game on the DS. I thought this normal until I realized there are no Naruto DS games out in America. I looked closer and saw that it was a Japanese game. So can somebody tell me when in the hell did Best Buy start selling imported games? I was speaking idiomatically. ![]() |
I've bought a couple of things since my last post. First off, I finally got around to buying Touch Detective. I probably won't be playing it anytime soon, but I figured I would get it now before it becomes hard to find.
Next, I bought Digimon World DS. Damn, this game was a bitch to find. I went to three different Gamestops just to find it, and the one that did have it only got one copy in. How the hell do they expect sell games if they only ship out one copy to each store? Anyway, I plan on playing this once I beat Pokemon Mystery Dungeon, though I have no idea when that will be (damn school). And finally, I finally got around to buying Red vs. Blue: Season Four. Now I just need to find time to watch it. What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? ![]() |
Well, I finally caved in and bought a (black) DS Lite on Sunday, and I can definitely say that I don't regret it. Everything about it better than the original, especially the screen brightness and the bigger default stylus. The only downside is that GBA games stick out of the GBA slot, but it's not really that bad (I still have my original DS and a GBA SP if I still want to play a GBA game without it sticking out, even though it's not that important an isue).
And today, I bought Children of Mana, Yoshi's Island DS, and Space Invaders Revolution at Circuit City. I only bought Children of Mana there because I didn't want to get it at Gamestop for $5 more. I bought Yoshi's Island 2 there because it came with a free DS Lite Yoshi Sleeve Kit. And I never planned on buying Space Invaders, but I saw it there for cheap, so I just went ahead and got it. FELIPE NO ![]() |
I've gotten quite a few games since my last post.
Elite Beat Agents: I bought it the day it came out, but I haven't played it, except for one multiplayer session against my sister. it seems pretty good at it, but I'll probably suck at it like I do at most music games (yet I continue to like and buy them). Bomberman Land: Touch!: Basically the same situation as above. I mainly wanted this for the online portion, but I haven't even tried it out yet. Final Fantasy III DS: Bought this on Black Friday since it was going for $10 cheaper than the normal price at Game Crazy, but I still haven't played it yet. Kirby: Squeak Squad: Bought it the day after it came out, and I've already beaten it. Just like NSMB, it's a great game, but way too short. Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin: Preordered this game about two weeks before it came out, and got it (along with the preorder bonus) the day it came out. Just started playing it this week, though. So far I'm up to the third portrait, and I'm loving this game! I'm still mixed on whether I like it more than DoS, though. I also ordered Jump Ultimate Stars, but the bastards at YesAsia fucked up somehow, and I still haven't got it yet, despite ordering it before it even came out in Japan. What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? ![]() |
