White only is a big turn-off. I was already on the edge about getting one, but I won't even consider it unless they release more (better) colors.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

And what did we get? Silver, Electric Blue, a Nintendogs edition, and a Mario Kart edition. Whoo. Party.
But the two Nintendogs editions that were released here were pink (though I think it was called pearl pink) and turquoise, and the Mario Kart edition is solid red. The only reason they had those names is because those games (Nintendogs: Best Friends Edition and Mario Kart) came packed-in with the system. So really, we are only missing white and black ones.

Okay, I looked up a pic of the Mario Kart one, and it's not solid red. My bad. But still, it's close enough so that people who actually wanted a red one will still be satisfied with it.

And yeah, the Nintendogs one is called teal, but it really looks about the same as the Japanese turquoise one (the Japanese one may be a tad bit darker, though).

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

There's nothing confirmed as of now, but I don't see why NOA wouldn't release at least one other color sometime in the future, most likely before the end of the year (the holiday season would be a good time to do this).

Maybe so, but I'd rather have fingerprints over the possibility of dirt that the white one and any of the other lighter colors bring. Based on the sleek design, it looks like any fingerprints could be easily wiped away anyway.

How ya doing, buddy?

I actually just posted in your journal telling you about the DS Lite, so go read that. And yes, it will be out before her birthday.

I'm not surprised that they're selling them if they have them. I remember getting my GBA SP like a week early, and Gamestop actually called me to tell me to come pick it up. They probably don't care either way, since they're getting paid one way or another. They figure they might as well do it earlier if it's available, so they don't have to worry about legions of geeks swarming their stores on launch day.

That's probably the only way I would get one as well. Even then, I would still only do it for a Navy or Black DS Lite, as those are the only colors I would even consider getting.

I actually have that clicky thing, but in my regular DS. It doesn't really affect gameplay or anything though, at least from my experience. It may be different for the Lite, though.

The DS Download Play option, at the moment, only works from DS to DS with games that support single card multiplayer. So basically, you can only use this if you are downloading a demo from a kiosk at a store or you have a friend with another DS and a game that supports the feature. As of now, there is no official way to use the Download Play feature via the internet, so no, you don't need a USB Wi-Fi adapter to use this option.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Eh, I'm excited about this, but I wish they would bring the third one over here before working on the fourth one. By the way, no offense or anything, but this is kind of old, as it was announced that they were working on the fourth game back in October of last year. They just recently released information about it, though.

Animal Crossing: Wild World will last you a while, as long as you stay interested in it (like Nintendogs, it's made to be played a small bit everyday). You could also get Metroid Prime: Hunters and Tetris DS, as they'll keep you busy for a while, especially with their multiplayer.

I am, only because I'm still waiting for them to release the black DS Lite here in America. I haven't even had my original DS for a year yet, so I'm in no rush to get rid of it for a DS Lite. I can wait for any other color other than white, though I'm mainly holding out for the black one. I'm not so desperate for one that I'm gonna get a color that I don't like.

Damn, I just read this somewhere a few days ago, but I can't remember where. But anyway, yes, you will be able to use the US DS Lite charger with the European DS Lite.

Nothing has been officially said about releasing more colors of the DS Lite in America, but if I were to take a guess I would say that at least one more will be out by the end of the year. If you have until next June to use your Best Buy thingy, you should definitely be able to get another color by then, but if you want one now that badly, you should probably just get one. The earliest I suspect a new color to be released here is in September, though it probably won't actually happen until around the holidays.

I can tell you right off the bat that, while an excellent game, New Super Mario Bros. isn't a long-lasting game. It took me less than a week to completely beat the game (three stars by the save file), and I only really played the game for about an hour each day. You should definitely play it some day, just don't get it if you're in need of a long game.

If you want games that will last you a while, but only because of their ongoing nature, then try out eother Animal Crossing: Wild World or Nintendogs. They'll both definitely last you a while, but there is only so much you can do in each game, and they get repetitive after a while. If you're anything like me, you'll probably wind up playing them a lot for about a month or two, and then go to almost never playing them.

Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow is a pretty good length game, and it offers up some extra stuff you can do after you beat it. I don't know how long a time you need this game to keep you occupied, but this one could keep you busy for a good while, depending on how often you play it.

Other than that, if puzzle games is your thing, pick up either Tetris DS or Meteos. They're pretty lengthy for puzzle games, and I would say they are some of the best games the DS has to offer (I personally liked Tetris DS better than Meteos, but they're both great).

Eh, I have way too many DS games I still need to play, so I doubt I would be doing anything like that anytime soon. I still need to play or beat about half the games in my collection, so I really don't concentrate on extra stuff like that when playing games.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

It's fun, but that doesn't mean I'm gonna keep playing it when there isn't anything else in it to do. The fact that you're still gonna be playing it doesn't change the fact that it is still a short game. What am I gonna do, keep playing the same levels again and again? I feel I beat the game to its fullest extent (that's what the three stars mean to me, by the way), and since I have other games to play, that's what I'm gonna do instead of playing the same one over and over again.

I'm looking for one of those for my DS Lite. Do they make them? All I've seen from looking around at Gamestops is crappy zippered cases that are bulky and ooglah.

This is the only thing I can think of that's kinda similar to that. I never used that one, but my sister has one for her regular DS that I've seen her use. It fits pretty snug around the DS, and she's never had any problems with it.

Nintendo Launches New DS Lite Colors Amid Strong Game Sales

Onyx and Coral Pink Follow Sale of 1 Millionth New Super Mario Bros.

The only thing more fun than new Nintendo DS Lite hardware colors is trying to keep up with the breakneck sales of the software to play on the popular little portable! On Sept. 13, two new colors - Onyx and Coral Pink - join Polar White, which is enjoying its own incredible sales peak and getting noticed everywhere.

I'm definitely getting a DS Lite now! The whole reason I didn't get one at launch was because I hate white, but now that they're coming out with the black one here, I have no reason not to get one!

I don't even know if I'll trade my old one in. I don't need to do it for the money, and it'll be nice to have an extra one lying around (my mom likes playing the sudoku on Brain Age, so now I can let her do that without interrupting my gaming). Besides, I don't even know if I could trade it in, since the sticker under the system (the one with the serial number and stuff) is practically gone.

I have no problem with the durability of the system. I've dropped it a couple of times, and I even threw it a few times (onto a bed, but still), and nothing is wrong with mine. I have noticed something though when playing my sister's DS: the silver DS is a lot lighter than the blue one, so maybe that's why it's not as durable (we might just have a different version or touchscreen or something, even though we bought them at the same time).

As for yours though, I know I wouldn't want to play with it when it's like that, so I'd just get a new one if I were you. Perfect timing too, with the new colors coming out next week.

Yeah, basically from now to the end of the year is when a whole bunch of games are coming out, and a lot of them are good. Children of Mana is coming out at the end of October, and FFIII is coming out in like the middle of November.

And aside from those, you have games like Mario Hoops (this week), Mega Man ZX (this week), Mario vs. DK 2 (September), Contact (October), Magical starsign (October), Elite Beat Agents (November), Yoshi's Island 2 (November), Hotel Dusk (December), Kirby Squeak Aquad (December), and possibly Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin coming out as well.

Damn, I may actually hold off on getting a DS Lite just so I can actually get all of these games.

Jam it back in, in the dark.
