I've never seen the movie, and I'm not even a fan of football in general, but I still like this show. I never played high school football myself, but I know how big it is here in Texas, so I can see where this show is coming from. I think it does a good job of portraying the small town football culture, with believable characters that give a great performance.
It's just too bad no one is watching this show, though. I'm not one to talk bad about one show to praise another, but it really is kind of sad that people would rather more reality crap like Dancing With the Stars, or another one of CBS' rehashes instead of watching a great show like this. Even if the ratings don't get better though, I hope NBC at least keeps it around for a full season, so we can have somewhat of a complete story arc (like one full football season).
Jam it back in, in the dark.
