Oh wow, I didn't even know there was another Karaoke Revolution coming out. I just checked the website, and it looks like it has some pretty good songs on there too. If I do get this, I'll probably just get the regular version, since I already have two microphones (well, a microphone and a headset, but same difference).

There's nowhere I can't reach.

So it's actually setup like the show, where you have to audition and stuff? Wow, that makes it sound even better. I definitely may have to get this sometime soon.

Is the microphone any different for this game than it is for the other games? My headset still works fine (I got the Logitech set that was sold seperatly from any game), but if it's different enough in this game I'd be willing to spring for the deluxe version.

Let's see...I got Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Justice For All last week, yet I still haven't played it yet, due to school and stuff. Once I finally do start playing games again, this will definitely be the first one I play.

And today, while looking for Hotel Dusk, I wound up getting a bunch of games that weren't Hotel Dusk. At EB, I picked up a new copy of the DS version of Scurge: Hive for $15. I said I would get it once it got cheaper, so I figured $15 was cheap enough.

And while at Target, I saw that they had brought back their clearance section. Hardly any good (or even mediocre) games this time though, so I only left with Final Fantasy I & II: Dawn of Souls for $21, and Yoshi Touch & Go for $10. With FF I & II, I now have all the FF games except for IX and XI (I obviously don't care to get XI). As for Yoshi, I probably would have gotten it sooner if Gamestop and other places weren't still selling it for $30 (pretty unbelievable for such an old game).

So basically, the only game I didn't get today was the one I set out to get.

Since my last post, I managed to find Hotel Dusk: Room 215. Got it at Wal-Mart the next day, but I still haven't played it yet (gonna finish PW2 first).

And today, I went to a different Target today, just to see what games they had in their clearance section. Way too many sports games, and quite a few Gamecube games, so not really much selection in regards to DS games. I did manage to get Gunpey DS for $8 though, so I'm not complaining. I also bought Eye Toy: Play, with the camera, for $15.

Seriously, I gotta start going to different Targets, if they're all gonna have different games in their clearance section. It's pretty good for finding not only cheap games, but older ones too.

I was speaking idiomatically.

Just a general question about PS2 Greatest Hits titles while on the subject but has anybody else experienced problems playing them on their PS2, preferbly the older models? See, the rental store had the GH version of God Of War and that was giving me nothing but "Disc Read Error" all the time unless I went through some ritual of constantly opening and closing the tray for 45 minutes to an hour to which the game would work....sometimes. So for this reason I picked up a new copy today but I'm getting the same bloody error message and problem. My other games and DVDs work fine though...
Well most of the time, Greatest Hits games are just the same as the regular version, except in different packaging, so I doubt the problem lies in GH games themselves. But for the record, I have an older PS2 (probably the oldest model), and quite a few GH games, and I never have problems with them. The only things I ever have problems with is DVDs on occasion.

What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now?

Hey you know what, some of my anime dvds seem extremely skippy as of late, and I tried the same DVD with the regular player upstairs and it works. I wonder how it the regular PS2 games now. ;__;

Yeah, that's what I had to do too. Sometimes it's just certain scenes, but other times it's entire episodes (the worst part is that one of my favorite episodes of ER is one of the ones that won't work in my PS2). No matter how many times it has happened though, I could never see any effect on the system's ability to play PS2 games.

So I did that deal free $10 gift card deal, but I did it with two copies of DKR. Bsically, I bought my own copy with my own money, and I bought my sister's copy with her own money, and just reaped the benefits myself.

Also, since I was looking for some more EyeToy games to go with my last purchase, I figured I would check Target again. The only thing I could find was EyeToy: Play 2 with the camera for $12. So now I have two Eyetoys only though only one is needed to play the games. Yeah.

God of War II is already out? Damn, shows how much attention I've been paying to the non-DS gaming scene.

Anyway, I just got the first God of War today at Target, for $15. I've been wanting it for a while, but I knew I wouldn't be able to play it anytime soon, so I never got it even when it first dropped to $20. I just happened to see it at Target today for that price, so I figured I might as well get it now so I can at least have it.

Next to FFVIA I saw one box for Wario Ware: Twisted!, a game that's been on my list for a while but figured I'd have to eBay at some point (because I didn't think I'd ever see it in a store). So I got that since I've been on a Wario Ware high lately (completed Smooth Moves last week). =p
Are things really that hard to find up there? Because I see like ten copies of that game at almost every store I go to (Gamestop, Circuit City, Target, etc.) for less than $20.

But anyway, I finally found a copy of Boktai today. I got it used at Gamestop (because there was no way I was ever gonna find this game new) for only $7. I wanted to have it for whenever I decide to get Lunar Knights (I know it's not a real sequel to it, but still). Now to try and find the second game...

There's nowhere I can't reach.

I hope you still have a GBA laying around, since I'm not sure how well the first two Boktai games would work with the DS. GBA games point face down and would be shaded by the rest of the DS. I haven't played Boktai in a long time, but I remember it being really picky about the sun sensor. Fun game, but I had to give up on it. My windows at home had some special UV protection on them, so I couldn't even get a single bar in blindlingly direct sunlight unless I went outside.
The only other thing I have is a GBA SP, so that's not too much different than a DS anyway. I couldn't even try it today though, since it decided to be all cloudy and stuff.

I picked up Izuna: Legend of the Unemployed Ninja.

Here's my review:

I picked up Izuna: Legend of the Unemployed Ninja. Don't.
Haha, my sister picked that up on Wednesday and by the next day said she was already over halfway done with it. I was gonna wait to get it on the cheap, but I probably won't even do that now.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Bought three PS2 games yesterday, which is the most I've bought at once in a long while. They were all just cheap games I bought using what was left of gift cards from Best Buy.

First off, I got Hunter: The Reckoning: Wayward for $10. My friend rented the first Hunter game years ago, and we had a blast playing it, so I figured I would get this game and give it a try. I'll probably play it with my sister, since we haven't played a co-op game like this since Baldur's Gate: dark Alliance.

Next, I got Space Channel 5: Special Edition, also for $10. Never played either game in it before, but I heard the Dreamcast versions was pretty cool, so hopefully these will be too.

And finally, I bought TimeSplitters: Future Perfect, again for $10. I loved TimeSplitters 2 (never played the first one, though), so this was a no-brainer. This game has been on my list for a while, I've just never actually gone out and got it until now. Another awesome co-op game to play with the sis, too.

So barring anymore cheap games, this will probably be it on the PS2 front for a while. Not any new games coming out that I want, and everything else I can just wait until they become cheaper since I won't have the time to play them anytime soon anyway ('sup *FFXII in 2008*).

Confirming once again why I'm not buying a PSP, I just bought Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories for the PS2 today. Seriously, there's hardly any games I want for the PSP, and the few that I do want just get ported to the PS2. If they port Daxter, Ratchet and Clank: Size Matters, and Me and My Katamari, I wouldn't have a single reason to get one.

As for the game, I don't know how soon I'll get to playing it, since I'm still playing Liberty City Stories at the moment. Even once I finish that though, I'm not sure how soon I'll get to playing this, since I've been continuously playing a GTA game since the original Vice City came out. Don't want to burn out on the series, so I might take a little break first.

As shameful as it is to admit (being one of the Ace Combat Era pilots), I've never played a single game in the series. I keep meaning to get one so I can try it out, but so far I haven't done it yet. I'm sure once I do this game will get added to the list, but I still can't see buying the system (at the current price, anyway) for just these few games.

I've gotten quite a number of games within the last week or so. Too many, in fact.

Starting with PS2 games (and in alphabetical order, since I don't remember the order I bought these in), first I bought Genji: Dawn of the Samurai for $10 at Best Buy. I'm always a sucker for ninja/samurai stuff (as you'll see in my next purchases), and since it was going for so cheap I couldn't pass it up.

Next up is Kengo: Master of Bushido. 'Sup old, first-gen figthing game. Bought it used at Gamestop for $4. I usually hate used games, but for $4 I didn't care much. I remember being interested in this game back before I even had a PS2, but I never got it when I did get the system. Oh well, five years later, I now have it.

State of Emergency is next on the list. Another used game I got at Gamestop for $4. I remember when it first came out that everyone was buying it because Rockstar published and everything they published was cool because of GTA III. That was never the reason I was interested in it though, as I had never even played GTA when I first heard of this game. I was genuinely interested in this game based on its own merits, despite the GTA-related hype and the negative reviews. Of course, I never bought it back then (I never really had money for games back in high school, and this game wasn't high on my priority list) I guess I'll get to see if it lives up to my expectations now.

Finally, I got Summoner, again used for $4. I never played it before, but I played a demo of the second game a long time ago and enjoyed that. I figured the first one wouldn't be too much different (I could be wrong, of course). I tried looking for the second one as well, but I couldn't find it. Maybe next time (or at another store).

So overall, most of the games I bought were older titles, but hpefully they still hold up as well now as they did back then. Of course, I won't know this anytime soon, as I probably won't get to playing them until sometime in 2011 (I now have 106 PS2 games, over half of which I have not played/beaten).

Now, onto the DS. Firs I got Harvest Moon DS for $10 at Best Buy. The only other Harvest Moon game I've played is the original SNES game, but I still know I'll enjoy this one (along with the other GBA game I have but never played).

Next, I got Lost In Blue and Lost In Blue 2. The story starts off with me wanting to get that awesome stylus that comes with preordering the second game. So I preordered the game and got the stylus, but then I realized that i would actually have to get the game. Being as anal as I am, I couldn't accept having the second one without having the first, so I went out to look for it. But I couldn't find it anywhere (new or used). I was just about to give up, but when I went to go pick up my copy of the second one, they had a used copy of the first one going for $25. Pretty damn expensive for a game that's over a year old and used, but since I couldn't find it anywhere else, I took what I could get.

I played a little bit of it though, and it was pretty good. I'll definitely have fun with it once I actually get to playing it, which will probably also be in 2011 (the DS situation is a little less worse, with only 80 games, and only about half unplayed/not completed).

And wrapping up this post, for the GBA I got Polarium Advance at Gamestop for $10 (new). On a whim I finally played the first Polarium on the DS this week, and I really enjoyed it. So much so that when I found out there was a sequel I really wanted to get it as well. Luckily I just happened to see that copy at Gamestop for cheap, so that was pretty damn good.

Even more games gotten since my last post, which wasn't even that long ago. Seriously, I really need to stop.

For the PS2, I bought Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence for $20 at Wal-Mart, and Xenosaga Episode III at Circuit City for $17. Both of them are games that I've wanted, but have been holding out on waiting for the price to go down. For Subsistence, I figured this is as cheap as it's gonna get, and since I had a hard time finding MGS2: Substance when I waited a while for it, I might as well get it now. As for XSIII, this was an unexpected surprise, as I've been seeing this going for $30 at most places. I'll definitely be playing this one after I beat Disgaea.

On the DS/GBA front, my copy of Boktai 2 finally came in. I've been collecting this series in anticipation of playing them all at once (probably this summer sometime, with the sun thing and all), but I've had the hardest time finding the second game new or used. I finally just went the online route and bought it new for $20, which seems like a pretty good deal to me. It just arrived yesterday, along with a free copy of Lunar Knights that my sister won from some website. Since she has no interest in this series, she went ahead and gave it to me, which is how I now have the whole series (except for Boktai 3 of course, which was only released in Japan).

Also for the DS, I got three games at Target in their $24 sale. The first game I got was Super Mario 64 DS. I played a little bit of it, and it seems alright. I've only played the original for about half an hour back when it first came out, so it will be good to finally play the whole game. Of course, the experience seems like it would be way better on a console, as the game seems a little off (especially with the camera).

Next I got Spectrobes. Haven't played it yet, mainly because the freaking 80 page manual is intimidating. Not only is it intimidating, but it, along with all the other crap they put in there (trading cards, Wi-Fi booklet, feedback postcard, and Health and Safety thingy) stretched out the case to the point where it can never close properly. They even had a sticker on the case itself just to keep the damn thing closed. Once you take that off though, you can't even close the case at all unless you take that extra crap out (which sucks, since I like to keep it), but even once you do that, the case will snap shut, but will be loose around the top and bottom edges. But whatever.

The last game I got for $24 was Wario: Master of Disguise. I played it for about ten minutes, and I must say, it was pretty damn fun. The disguise aspect seems like it will be very interesting, and having to play minigames to open treasure chest is pretty cool as well. I'll definitely take the time out to enjoy this one once I have more free time.

And finally, I got Meteos: Disney Magic at Circuit City for $20. I wasn't really planning on getting this game, since I wasn't even that big a fan of the original game, but for $20 I figured what the hell. Good thing too, because this game is way better than the original. The two main changes to the game (playing it sideways ala Brain Age and the ability to shift blocks horizontally) are excellent, almost making this an entirely different game altogether. Not too keen on the Disney stuff, but the improved gameplay more than makes up for this. They're definitely on the right track with this, so if they make a new original version (I miss the little aliens ) with these improvements and online play, that would be a must buy game for the DS.

I'm avoiding Monster Bomber on DS because it looks like absolute shit.
Monster Bomber actually isn't that bad. Granted, it's not the best game on the system, but there are certainly worst games out there. As far as action/puzzle games go though, it's okay. Not worth full price, but definitely worth grabbing if you can find it cheap (I paid $5 for it, which I feel is an okay price).

I also have a copy of Hunter: The Reckoning: Wayward, which is supposed to be pretty terrible, but hey, it'll be good times no matter.
If you liked the first Hunter game it shouldn't be that bad, though I will admit it's not as good as the first one. It's mainly because of the player limitations if you ask me, though (I played the first game with three people as well, but Wayward only allows for two players), not any shortcomings of the game itself.

Man, I haven't posted here in a really long while. Probably because when I buy something most of the time it ends up going straight into the backlog. Not the case with Battlefield: Bad Company (Gold Edition). I tried the demo and got addicted to it, prompting me to buy it at full price (something I hardly ever do, though to be fair it came with a free $10 gift card).

So far I'm loving it, though I haven't much time to play it due to school. I'm only on the second level, but already the game is amazing. It's just fun blowing shit up. And I love the multiplayer as well, though I haven't got to try all the maps yet (I've only tried maybe half of them).

If you can get it for cheap, I say buy it. Otherwise, it might be a bit too short and simple for most people.
10-12 hours for a $20 (probably even cheaper by now) DS game was pretty good to me. And while it seems simple at first, it definitely ramps up in difficulty later on. If you ask me, this is one of the overlooked gems on the system.

It actually was $30 when it first came out, but it dropped to $20 so fast that most people probably didn't even notice it was ever $30. Seriously, it took less than a month for it to drop in price after it came out, so most likely EA realized it should have been a $20 to begin with and just lowered the price.

I found a new copy of Beyond Good & Evil for the PS2 for $10, so I figured I might as well get it now instead of waiting for the GH version. I really don't know much about this game, but people tend to act like it's the best game ever, so I should at least try it out.

Why would there be a GH version of BG&E? Only four people bought it.
That's exactly what I thought, but my sister showed me this (it's from Kotaku, so it should be taken with a grain of salt...a huge fucking grain) so I figured it could be true. I mean, with games like Okami, Disgaea, and Odin Sphere also becoming GH titles (arguably good games, but they don't exactly reach the number of copies sold requirement), it seems as if Sony is getting pretty lapse in what it qualifies as a PS2 GH in the system's later years.

Yeah, Bladestorm is one of the harder to find PS3 games, which is why even used copies are still pretty expensive (I don't think I've personally ever seen one for less than $30). It's a pretty fun (and slightly underrated) game that's worth it if you're into that type of game though, so it's definitely worth the price. I haven't played much of it myself, but it's probably my sister's favorite PS3 game to date.
