Xaldin's not THAT hard on Proud.

Spoiler:
I got him down to his last HP bar, he killed me but Mickey showed up and I managed to beat him.

You're right, he can't. But I was able to restore Sora and beat him.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Beat it last night. I'll post more detailed thoughts later, but on the whole I loved it. Too bad the story fell to shit in the end. And some of those final boss battles...

I actually hoped you'd be able to switch between the two every now and then during the battle for various parts of the fight. Woulda been cool, I thought.

A bit off-topic but, does anyone have an English version of Sanctuary~after the battle~ yet?

What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now?

Don't expect them to, either. KH2's story falls apart in the endgame. Major disappointment.

Yeah, the actual ending is pretty nifty, but the rest of the endgame is just bad.

They just wanted to be able to go around as if they were part of the Organization.
There are only 13 members in the Organization; I THINK they'd all know who's a member and who isn't. Besides, I think it'd be kinda hard for Mickey to blend in anyway.

The story fell to pieces in the endgame -- it suffered from Chrono Cross syndrome: "Oh shit, we forgot to include the plot!" So they threw some stuff together and tried to explain it (poorly) at the last minute.

The final dungeon and battles were mostly cool -- the ones that didn't rely on gimmicks anyway, like the card battle and the DODGE-1000-LASER-BLASTS-AT-THE-LAST-SECOND-OR-DIE-AND-START-ALL-OVER finale.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

You mean all the characters whom you haven't seen since the start of the game showing up briefly to offer quickie, half-assed explanations on what's going on so you can be brought up to speed before the final battles is awesome? And that's not even taking into consideration how Maleficent figures into the whole mess.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

I don't know what you're talking about. I saw most of the characters at the end in other places besides the start of the game. You must have been playing a different game.
I'm talking about characters like Namine -- who had a lot of potential coming into KH2 -- thrown by the wayside until game's end only to show up as a mere afterthought so you can learn
Spoiler:
oh, she's Kairi/Sora's Nobody by the way.
I'm talking about DiZ, who starts out as a potentially dangerous character (and mostly lives up to it, I'll admit) ending up as the scenario writer's mouthpiece so he can dole out poorly conceived exposition and try and wrap everything up for the player a la Crono, Lucca, and Marle at the end of Chrono Cross.

If you wanna think the endgame's the best part of the story, be my guest. But after coming off the awesome midway point at Hollow Bastion, it just felt like the story completely ran out of steam to me, and Nojima/Nomura hastily tried to wrap everything up in a way that was wholly unsatisfying.

I'm seriously glad I decided to start on Proud. I tried getting 100% my first time through FFX-2. Got up to 96% before I learned you had to do the 100-level dungeon.

Once you finish all -- or most, if you wanna skip a few -- of the Disney worlds, the plot picks up. Though if you're really actually getting bored of the game, you may just wanna quit now, cuz nothing changes in the gameplay department and the story's nothing to write home about.
