Yeah, they ripped it off. Episode 133 also had Sasuke doing some poses that were ripped off from a movie (right before Naruto runs up the wall where Sasuke is standing).

The "rip-offs" weren't rip-offs, they were homages. Seriously. The animation teams who worked on the Neji/Naruto fight either worked on the Cowboy Bebop movie or referenced it, ala Tarantino. Same with Sasuke's poses, which come from some famous martial arts flick.

It's pretty common in film and animation and even writing. Are there rip-offs? Definitely, but more stuff this blatant is an homage.

Hidan is from a new village (NOT FROM MIST because he has 3 comma-like symbols on his headband) and Kakuzu from Hidden Waterfall. And yes, I also approve of them, but Deidara made a bigger impression, really. He immediately had a good fight with Gaara. These two new people are just more threatening, because they are basically doing Itachi and Kisame's dirty work and they have no problems with it.

Who knows if she's dead or not? Unless those two members have special abilities to maintain the beast so it can get extracted later. We still don't know much about them, but so far, their personalities and interaction is already better than Itachi/Kisame.

I read a better translation and I guess that's what he was muttering about, but it all seems to sudden. Like I said before, Kishi could have told us 3 years ago that Asuma was indeed Sandaime's son, and now that he's looking for a potential sandbag, he suddenly digs up Asuma again who was NEVER important to the story in the first place. It's a good thing that he gets spotlight, but I wouldn't like it if he suddenly died (not before he impregnated Kurenai or something manly like that).

Yeah, almost everyone noticed the similarities (name, hairstyle, beard, tobacco*sp etc), but it was never confirmed by Kishimoto himself. If Asuma would be killed now, Kurenai's sole purpose would be that of a widow or something. Unless she gets killed along with Asuma at the same time. =?

I was just kidding about Asuma and Kurenai being man and wife, but they probably have something. Those two don't have much of a story or background anyway, so speculating doesn't really hurt. But really, now that Kishi brought up Asuma again, Kurenai is bound to be somewhere there.

Kickass. Full translation is not out yet, but it's cool already. Tobi is now officially with Akatsuki and Deidara has his arms back. Color pages reveal that the leader had light brown hair and the other member *female, most likely* has purple hair with a flower or something in it. Deidara also completely owns the 3 tailed beast. For the rest, it's Naruto training, Kakashi sucking up to Yamato and Naruto also asking Asuma for advise on wind manipulation. The monk from a few chapters ago is in Konoha and alerted Tsunade that Akatsuki is coming. Kishi is really back on track. The manga got better with Hidan and Kakuzu, but with Deidara's return and Tobi as his companion only awesomeness can happen.

The 3 tails is dead and Tobi was sleeping on it. Kishi gave Deidara some funny faces and lines to develop his personality and Naruto is still training *doesn't care*. Tsunade is sending 80 goddamn people to go after Hidan and Kakuzu, including Asuma and Shikamaru. Nice to see Izumo and Kotetsu, but I don't expect too much from them (cannon fodder, maybe?).

Chapter 319 is PURE filler. They can't screw up the next chapter, because it would be wrong to leave out Akatsuki members for two chapters in a row.

What I meant was that they wasted _2_ pages of Sakura crying over Sasuke bullshit. Kishi gave her nonsense super powers, he should at least make her act more mature. Asuma was looking at some plants, they wasted an entire page on Kurenai staring like a drone and Izumo and Kotetsu didn't even TALK. What the hell. Yamato's personality still isn't established, he just makes stupid faces and acts different in front of Kakashi every 5 seconds.

Also, the art took a nosedive again. I don't mind mediocre art if there's enough to see, but this was just filler + bad art and Kishi is really pushing the Sasuke nonsense too far. It should be all about Akatsuki now in this arc, fuck Sasuke.

Like Casaubon said, training arcs can be good if done right. This wind training isn't interesting at all and Naruto still not having a mature personality doesn't help either. I wouldn't mind the training if Naruto himself was somewhat likeable, but he isn't. *same for Sasuke*

Naruto cut the waterfall and he is hungry. Asuma and co enter the temple, meet some leftover monks and they figured that Akatsuki + Chiriku's body would be at a bounty station, so they are going to try one of them. Two noobs were at the ramen bar because the girl was on a trip and they wasted _4_ pages on them fucking up Naruto's order (in a totally cliché fashion). Hidan and Kakuzu delivered the body behind a men restroom (the bounty station). It was some sort of morgue and Hidan said it stunk, so he would wait outside while Kakuzu counted the money. The chapter ends with Kakashi telling Naruto that he has to show him something interesting.

I was so looking forward to it, but it just wasn't worth it. =|

Another explanation chapter. This one was about chakra form manipulation. Lots of text everywhere. Kakashi can also do the Rasengan, surprisingly. Akatsuki talk was shortened to ONE page and Hidan's not even in it, but it's funny that Kakuzu blatantly told the baldy that he would go to Konoha to capture the Jinchuuriki. Perhaps the baldy already was familiar with Akatsuki. At the end of the chapter were two boring pages with Asuma talking to the rest. Nothing interesting was revealed; he stopped smoking temporarily and told the rest that he was buddies with Chiriku.

Team Asuma and Akatsuki MUST meet in the next chapter, because I fear that it might take a long while before Naruto further develops a jutsu by himself like Kakashi told him.

The last page show that guys robe got burned. Oh lookie, the cloth covering his RIGHT ARM got burned off. Then he says let's SHARE the pain TOGETHER. Soooo any damage that guy receives, Asuma will get get the same exact amount of damage too.
