I just recently started watching the Japanese version of Sonic X with English Subtitles. It amazed me just how much more I liked the series. I admit, I wish it was spoken in my language sometimes but I'm still satisfied.
When I think of how much I like the Sonic X series because of not hearing the English Dub, it makes me really think English Dubbers really can ruin a good anime. 4Kids made this anime seem more like an American Cartoon when it had the potential to have the feel of a good anime here. They changed around good music, they got rid of the nice Anime Ending songs, and got some horrible VAs. They made a good anime seem like a low budget kids cartoon in the process of "americanizing" it. I didn't know I could enjoy a series much more because of it not being English Dubbed. Jam it back in, in the dark. |
