Jam it back in, in the dark.

I dig the atmosphere conjured in #modarchive Story 2: Operator Status (Game Rip) - Nifflas Forest Music 1, and there are some neat instrumental features (such as some guitarin') in the background which keep me interested. Melodically it's fairly weak and the prominence of the melodic lead damages the atmosphere of an otherwise serene piece. Still, this is solid forest music, and OK VGM.

aww crap, asia. Like orion, I'm audioracist when it comes to (typical) Asian music, but thankfully Legend of the Ancient Sword (Game Rip) - The Phoenix Calls Yao Mountain has a refreshing orchestral accompaniment which takes main stage alongside the restrained asiaflute. However even with this, the track doesn't impress me and is static more often than it is dynamic. Epic needs more epic.

INSTA-MELODIC FUN. LOSTMAGIC - Run Like the Wind -feel fresh- (Windmill Plains) is an insanely enjoyable go-to track whenever you feel like something upbeat, refreshing and cheerful. It's got a sense of maturity too with some smartly placed piano sections and a coherent structure. Also that melody, dayum. Norihiro Furukawa = super cool.

aww shit, asia. I'm actually a fan of fast-played shamisen, so Shin Samurai Spirits Haohmaru Jigokuhen Arrange Sound Trax - Path of Men (Haohmaru) definitely appeals to me in that respect. My appreciation of the instrument only goes so far though, and I was really begging for this track to change things up a bit. The percussion helps, but it still gets bogged down towards the end.

0:21 got me excited. Then the slap bass got me even more excited. I'm not as big a fan of the melodic synth lead that follows, but everything else is fun; and I'm an absolutely sucker for slap bass so that alone gets points. As The King of Fighters 2000 Arrange Sound Trax - Will and a couple of other SotW entrants have shown, The King of Fighters series seems to have some good, diverse sounds..

Sorry orion, I'm really not a fan of Tron 2.0 (Game Rip) - Cruiser - Combat. The sound seems a tad off [subjective criticism] and the faux-orchestra really sticks out as being, well, fake. Things become a bit too hectic and confusing for my simple mind! (but hey, at least it isn't asia, amirite)

Twintris (Game Rip) - We're the Devils is like the Cheetah Men II theme but not as good. Don't get me wrong I still enjoy it and the retro melodies it sports. Actually I don't really have anything bad to say about this. Please forget this comment.

For some reason I love Zooo (GBA Game Rip) - Game Mode 3. The sound is so distinctly 'i am in a zoo', it's great. And for another reason I find the melody extremely catchy. 5 minutes of MUSIC BLISS, almost.
