Oh =/ OK then, no worries here's another:
Composer: Yuke's Sound Team Game Title: The Dog Island [Wii] Track Title: Credits Track Number: N/A Year: 2007 Additional Information: Can't find any composer information for this game anywhere, and the youtube videos featuring the credits are all terrible (main demographic for this game is little girls and they can't hold cameras properly by the looks) There's nowhere I can't reach. |
Alien Carnage (Game Rip) - seb7 (opening credits) establishes a nice tone of grunge and emptiness with accents of uplifting melody. It's a shame it doesn't do more than what it does, because the direction was really strong with all the different albeit wholly underwhelming sections.
I bought the Bangai sound collection on a whim a couple of years back, and it's always proven to be an entertaining romp whenever I give it a listen. While not a patch on the greats such as SotW veteran "Bangai-O GO!", BANGAI-O SPIRITS Audio Collection Plus - Exploding Bounce still manages to be a typically fun and engaging NON tune, with its chaos adding charm and energy more than any real drawback. I love the Impressionistic patterns of Concerto ~ Mitsumete Knight - Lost Timbre, which express a magnificent lead melody. The sub-sections are all beautiful in their own way too, with a nice new-agey break at 2:05 with flighty piano being a definite highlight. Subdued, but with enough emotional and musical intricacy to keep one interested! I'm positive this won't be everyone's cup of tea though, especially after being spoilt by "Waterfall" last week. (and orion, I can't say I pick up on any "Love Theme" influences like you did :/)Dark Reign 2 (Red Book Audio) - In-Game 1 tries to accomplish a whole bunch of stuff and succeed in delivering a range of musical ideas, but the end end product falls a bit flat. The disjointedness of the structure is a turn-off for me, as is the awkward mesh between epic orchestral and electronic bleeps that wasn't woven together by any strong beat, rhythm or melody. Oww yeah, Destroy All Humans! Path of the Furon (Game Rip) - Vegas Baby! is totally groovin' and fun. The jazz flute is awesome and while there's not a great melody anywhere, it's too enjoyable to not save and consider for points. The original "Jungle Navigation" is one of my favourite tracks from 7th dragon, and Live Music by Piano and Strings - 7th Dragon Super Arrange Version - Labyrinth - Jungle Navigation does an OK job of updating the tone and feel of it while retaining the core melody. My problem with it is that's it's too sparse and the background effects (including guitar) are somewhat passive, not really adding much to the atmosphere and distracting from the lead instruments more than anything. Still, that melody's too great to ignore. I'm kinda struggling to write anything about Super Valis IV (Game Rip) - Vecanti since it's disappointingly nondescript and entirely fleeting. It doesn't do anything that offend more or anything, but it absolutely doesn't do anything noteworthy either. Umineko no Naku Koro ni musicbox Blue - hope is a cut above the millions of sentimental sounding VGM tunes called 'Hope', but still isn't too flash, particularly in contrast to the competition this week. It's pleasant though, and hearing the seagulls actually cry at the end was a nice touch! what's the POINT of such a mammoth wall of text? D: i don't know 3 points: Concerto ~ Mitsumete Knight - Lost Timbre 2 points: Destroy All Humans! Path of the Furon (Game Rip) - Vegas Baby! 1 point: BANGAI-O SPIRITS Audio Collection Plus - Exploding Bounce 4th: Umineko no Naku Koro ni musicbox Blue - hope 5th: Alien Carnage (Game Rip) - seb7 (opening credits) 6th: Live Music by Piano and Strings - 7th Dragon Super Arrange Version - Labyrinth - Jungle Navigation 7th: Super Valis IV (Game Rip) - Vecanti 8th: Dark Reign 2 (Red Book Audio) - In-Game 1 A decent week, with the common divide between the top three and the rest. This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
