I was struggling to think of something to post in this thread until I saw the post I quoted. Suikoden III. The reviews I read made this one sound absolutely fantastic, and given the awesomeness of Suikoden II my expectations were lofty as Everest. But holy shit that game was bad. The plot had some interesting sparks and some of the character graphics were OK to look at, but otherwise it was just a horrible, horrible game. It raped everything that the original two games brought to the gaming market and everything the fans had grown to love, and instead relied on fancy PS2 aesthetics to win over the fans.
Obviously the fans who were won over don't have the greatest taste. (look at the

I bought a swap magic kit just for SIII, too. I still haven't managed to put it to good use...
