I agree with most people in this thread. Despite being horrendously inconsistent, the Suikodes series is my favourite. It goes a little something like this: I = II > V > (hueg jump) IV > III > Tactics, ranging from an almost-perfect 10/10 to an abysmal -4.
Definitely check II and V out if you can. The underlying plot that encompasses all of the games is incredible. Seriously, incredible and well-thought out and planned. It hasn't crashed yet, even with some crummy battle systems and really bland characters.
So basically, when Suikoden stinks it stinks, but when it shines, it fuckin' shines.
Jam it back in, in the dark.
