I'm an asshole by popular opinion. I'm not afraid to tell the truth but I happen to do it in "unproductive" ways (or so I'm told). I don't mind breaking hearts, crushing hopes, or spitting in your cereal - I tell it the way I see it and I could give a shit less whether you like it or not.

Fortunately my core group of friends (and particularly my closest friend) don't mind and actually find me pretty damn amusing. But it has gotten me into trouble a couple of times.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

But that's just it. I'm not emotional. And trouble in the future? No, my attitude gets me in trouble now. And when people treat me that way I fight fire with fire - that's how I've always been.

But what's ironic is that usually I'm just being sarcastic but people take it as completely serious. I may act mean but it's just to throw people off - I'm actually quite nice when you get to know me.

That's why I said "by popular opinion" and put "unproductive" in quotes; I tend to not beat around the bush and just answer honestly. Most people ask you a question expecting you to give them the nice (read: sugar-coated) answer they WANT to hear. I give the bare, no frills, completely honest one they don't want to hear but NEED to hear. So that's why I'm considered an asshole.

But it doesn't really offend me - I just know the true me and the me they see. Let them invest brain sweat figuring out which is which.

There's nowhere I can't reach.
