The funny thing is, I bet the people to start the complaints were white just looking for something to stir up some controversy. Stereotypes are in alot of movies and there no complaints until it happens to be the potential biggest movie of the summer. Tyler Perry's movies portray whites in a way that I don't agree with but you don't see me throwing a fit. Did people have a fit when Robert Downey Jr. played Kirk Lazerus in Tropic Thunder? He played on almost every African American stereotype and for the most part everyone laughed or admired it.
Of course that doesn't change that Michael Bay shouldn't be allowed to touch something as sacred as Transformers, but I will give him the benefit of the doubt on the people screaming how racist he seems to be. He's not the first to do this. Jam it back in, in the dark. |
