[PS2] Final Fantasy XII

All of this discussion is very interesting. The sources from other forums being brought into the same thread is a lot more info than I was looking for, but in a good way.

Seems like you people really are aware of everything being posted out there, so I have a question.

I read some stuff posted on 2chan on the 13th and 14th about some possible big game spoilers, mainly stuff pertaining to the final boss and who/what that boss is, and how they tie into the story of course. In that thread, I also came across the possibility of

Spoiler:

a character dying.

I find it hard to believe that people would know all of this, considering the first FF12 torrent did not hit the web until the 14th (correct me if I am wrong, please). I would hope this information is just speculation, I really didn't want anything spoiled and came across the thread by accident. I do not know how these people could post all of that info, seeing as how the game wasn't even released yet, and pirated versions JUST hit the web as they were typing all of that...

Anyway, does anyone know if that discussion is false or just a bunch of speculation? It was titled "FF12 ultimate capture" or something weird like that.

And the game is coming out in November? I thought they said October. Damn. Oh well, we've waited long enough... what's the difference at this point, right?

This might sound ridiculous, but I'm pissed. It sucks when you have waited like, what is it now, four or five years for a game and you already have at least one, possibly two big things spoiled.

That's what I get for being curious.

Posts in question are #27 and #65. #27's last point is about the boss (I think), and #65 is about the other thing. Use google translator if you cannot understand. #27 seems thrown into a post about other misc. gameplay details.

#65 seems to say that what it describes MAY happen but it has not been confirmed, only speculated. At least, when you translate it to English, that's what it seems to say. That it isn't made "valid" or something like that.

That place had all kinds of spoilers including the ending before the game was even officially released in Japan.

On what date? When did people start really leaking info?

I haven't read 2chan since the 13th/14th and I am not going back. I'm sure the place is now cluttered with even more spoilers. However I have been told the post I came across was rather generic and really didn't spoil much. And much of everything else I read was speculation that was not yet validated.

And now the FMVs of the ending are already posted a day later (March 18).

Well, when you posted your spoiler I clicked on it and just took a glance, but I think I saw more than I wanted to... specifically, a key word that kind of gives it all away, but I didn't see any other details. I hope it doesn't take much away from the game when I play. :\ Though I do hear FFXII has plot twists galore.

I should've just kept thinking what I initially thought was false, because it is. I would've been better off

Well I guess you could say that its Hume vs Hume kinda story where most politicials has their own ideal world they wanted to create, typical FF theme.

Evil person controls the most powerful person -> Powerful person did bad things -> bad things lead to war -> war makes ppl sad and angry -> Sadness and anger fused revenge -> Add some touchy feely bits in it and some surprising elements -> FFXII in a nutshell

Does having a good idea of who the final boss is take away from the story in your opinion?

But what I'm SAYING is, I think I have a good idea of who the final boss is. Knowing this ahead of time, before playing... do you think, in your opinion, it would ruin the game for me.

What sucks is, when I first heard who it was, it was from a 2chan thread that has been more or less proven to be false based on some people I've been talking to.

But when I first posted here a couple days ago, I didn't know that to be true for sure; I thought it was true, however. So I clicked on Craze's spoiler a couple pages back for further confirmation, and he says something completely different. :\ As soon as I could tell I quickly looked away, but I saw a key word, and when reading about FFXII characters on Wikipedia later on... it clicked. So I think I know who the boss is and how they are related to the story/characters. I don't know specific details, or how anything unravels, but I'm pretty confident I figured out who the final boss is.

This kind of pisses me off. Well, in fact, it is driving me nuts. FFXII seems like a standout title, one that is different from all of the other stories. For quite a while it has been my most anticipated game. All I know is that I hope there's a lot more to this game's story that will hold my interest.

I'm not giving Craze a hard time here; he didn't know. I should have just went with my gut instinct that turned out to be right and never posted anything pertaining to the final boss because what I "knew" was untrue. Now I think know this for sure... and possibly in the worst way.

Craze, please tell me you didn't see these pics yourself and you are just going off of 2chan chatter.

As for your question, I dunno, look a couple pages back (Page 15). I didn't read the whole thing as soon as I saw you talk about something I was totally not expecting. But I saw a couple words as I glanced that may have given something away.

And when were you "through" with the FMV's?

I guess you hate FF? It has to suck playing the game if you know everything that happens.

The ONLY one I read is on Page 15 when you were replying to me, saying pics hit the Internet so it should be no surprise that... something. Not a big deal?

I saw some names, and some words describing certain relationships... but that's all. I didn't put it all together but based on some other information I think I may have a pretty solid idea. Unless what you posted wasn't a big deal.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

No no no this is good. I've now heard like four possibilities for what the final boss could be, none of them with solid confirmation.

As for what you really said, I don't know, go back to page 15 and read your spoiler, I'm paranoid.

Ok well, I don't even want to read about any more possibilities because I've accidently heard too many as is, so I'd rather not read that post at all.

So when you made that post were you listing off various things you have heard? Or just one thing? I could've sworn your bascially said you knew who the final boss was when you made your post on page 15.
