You have to mention Neverwinter Nights when you talk about pc rpgs, it has great writing, not to mention the huge community support.
btw, nwn 2 on the way  Anachronox was a great game. the talking planet was one of the most creative/original ideas I've seen in an rpg Jam it back in, in the dark.
