Can this include appreciation for Donkey Kong: Jungle Beat?
Oh ho ho. Seriously though, Mario vs DK and DK: JB are the only DK games I remember enjoying. DKC was good, but it didn't stand out in my mind. DK was my least favorite Nintendo franchise until very recently (now it's AC and AW). So yeah, appreciation. Yay. Also, I predict in DK Rev: Vine swinging. Edit: Mostly I'm pointing out the fact that DK64 sucked rancid ass. Jam it back in, in the dark. |
Yeah, Animal Crossing and Advance Wars.
I'm not saying either is a bad series, because they're not. I'm just not into them at all, so they're my least favorite Nintendo franchises. There's nowhere I can't reach. |
Rare platformers have never been as good as Nintendo platformers. DKC falls short of Super Mario World, Banjo falls short of Mario 64.
"Ick, I didn't realize the mighty RARE stooped to such cheap tricks. Perhaps they are a bit overrated after all." What? Every Rare platformer, with the exception of DKC, is a collectathon. It's like the Super Mario Sunshine blue coin deal, except with Rare that's pretty much the entire game. It's probably apparent that I'm not exactly a big Rare fan. I've just always felt as though they make mediocre games. They've got a few good ones, but I think the vast majority of them lack anything special, anything really worthwhile. And nowadays they're even worse. They're a group of people riding on a name that made a few good games. This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
"...And you riding the Mario train is different right?"
This doesn't even make sense. I was talking about Rare, the group of people who made the game. Not the people who play it. I will admit that I thought Sunshine, a few glaring faults aside (blue coins and the plot) was a brilliant game. It was just plain fun. But it's the only Mario Gamecube game I own, unless you count Luigi's Mansion. I don't own Mario Tennis or Mario Party or any of those. Either way, I don't see how that has anything to do with Rare being washed up, and my opinion that they were never all that great to begin with. I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |
