Overhauling Old Computer - new Motherboard

Thanks to everyone who helped me in that videocard thread!

But I found out I don't have PCI-E so I was wondering if you guys could help me choose a motherboard. I'm cheap so I think that's what I'm going to do >_<'' What information do you need first?

Now I think I made a step to early, my cousin just told me my computer might be a proprietary, meaning it can't be upgraded unless I use the appropriate motherboard. How can I tell?

Btw, my computer is manufactured by Emachines. ._.''
