[DS] How do you get 3,000 pikachus on a bus? POKEMON!

for being a pokemon thread, i'm surprised nobody has yet mentioned the manaphy giveaway event. i happened to stumble across a short article in this month's nintendo power.



so as it says, noon to 3 a month from tomorrow @ a participating toysrus. are any of you gonna go out and get it?

the cherish ball animation better be cooler than the lousy premier ball one. i don't understand why they couldn't have kept the old premier ball anim (it used to make my shiny wurmple look extra shiny). if all the giveaway pokemon are in cherish balls, it'll temporarily set apart some of the hacked pokemon from the official handouts (hackers will start to notice eventually, but it'll help keep things straight for a little bit).

speaking of shiny pokemon, do you think that 1/8192 manaphies will be shiny or do you think they didn't bother making any?

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

yeah, i know that much, but this was addressing giveaway pokemon in general... i think i remember hearing stories about someone getting a legititmate shiny mew...

technically, you are able to calculate roughly how many EPs a pokemon has gained by seeing how many vitamins you can feed them. if you can't feed them any more, it's either because they maxed out EPs in that stat, or because they maxed out their EP total.

If you want to know if your pokemon can earn more Effort Points, there's a woman in Slateport's outdoor sales area (3rd Gen) or Sunyshore's Seal Market (4th Gen) that will give you a ribbon if you have aquired 510 Effort Points, figuratively called the "Effort Ribbon."

you can isolate the numbers with basic arithmetic, but it might take some time to figure out exact digits...

so this event is for the download of a Regigigas with a Cutsap Berry and the moves: Iron Head, Rock Slide, Icy Wind, and Crush Grip.

the word on the street is that this Regigigas will be used to unlock the three previous Regi-pokemon in Platinum (releases on the 22nd).

i've got a friend that i go with to these events, so we'll be picking up a few. what about you guys? gonna stop by Toys R Us for some Regigigas action?
