Is there any real reason to read the manga if I plan on watching the anime? Are they the same storyline?

It's usually one or the other for me. If I watch the anime then there is no reason to read the manga and vice versa. Unless it's radically different or I really loved the manga/anime. Something like Full Metal Alchemist or Neon Genesis Evangelion.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

What the hell happened here?

Anyway, episode 2 was even better than 1.

Spoiler:
Satou must be a weak hikkimori. He leaves his apartment with relative ease. I wonder if he just likes Misaki? It was funny when he started to sing the song that is always playing in the next apartment. So, now he is stuck learning how to make a game from an old classmate to show to Misaki in a month to prove that he is not a hikkimori. Funny thing is his old classmate wants to make a hentai game. Next episode looks like Satou will be having a lot of delusions about Misaki while making the game.

Yeah, I used spoilers!

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

The mangaka is pretty damn slow
Hopefully, when they run out of manga story they will diverge into a new storyline. Nothing worse than an anime that can't make itself into something special when there isn't any more manga to go off from.

Episode Three has been out for a couple of days and is very funny. Basically, it's about Satou falling in love with the world of Bishoujo games.

Spoiler:
His penis must hurt with all that masturbating. lol. So, I guess being a hikkimori means that he shuts himself out from all forms of interaction including the Internet because he is so amazed by all of the porn he finds. He really falls down into the dumps this episode. At least we were able to see Misaki again. I wonder if her project is something school related or something deeper and more personal.

@Spatula; a very funny line indeed.

I was speaking idiomatically.

I love this kind of anime that looks into the lives of it's characters.
Spoiler:
Episode 7 was another interesting one. Seems Satou's mom is coming to visit so he goes into hyper mode getting things set up; girlfriend, job. Misaki willingly says she will play the part of his girlfriend. I wonder how that will work out for real next episode because they just play dated this episode. Will his mom buy it or see right through it?
Hope the soundtrack will be released soon as all of the music is excellent.

What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now?

Looks like shenannigans in the workplace!!
Yeah, that was pretty funny. I immediately thought of episode 4 as well. It's unlikely that a DVD release would change anything though. Usually the only thing changed for DVD's is uncensoring censored bits of anime.

What, you don't want my bikini-clad body?
