I'm probably going to jump into this and perhaps revive it, as I haven't surfed the boards in a long while, and I have ALWAYS loved all of the Fallout series. I'll begin a character when I get home.
Edits will add details to character journey! ![]() Anyways, this is one of my more interesting forays into melee, abandoning perception completely for sheer intelligence and high agility. Quiana doesn't need eyes to bash the crap out of things that are in front of him! While he won't be able to critical worth anything, or even perform targeted strikes, his ability to use a melee weapon for only 2 AP, and later only 1 with a perk, makes him an unstoppable juggernaught capable of ripping two or even three mutants in half in a single turn. ![]() Looting someone I might have known, feels morbid doesn't it? ![]() Rats, bah! Knuckle to the face for them. ![]() The sun, she is so bright! *eyes burn* ![]() Thank you pretty lady, you made me smarter. Me was dumb before. ![]() Hey, there's this nifty thing called crop rotation. USE IT! ![]() Man, there's so many of them, and all that posion, hope they've got me some antidotes. ![]() Hey, antidotes for me AND you. ![]() Now we're stylish and able to hit hard, REALLY hard. ![]() Dang, rocks suck don't they? ![]() I managed to pay for Tandi, man is she a cheap whore :P ![]() Heeey, I get skills for just bringing her ass back to daddy, imagine that. ![]() No weapons drawn? You guys have guns, big meanies! ![]() Ze doctor, he is missing! ![]() I walk in, crazy looking guy says I don't leave. NO-ONE tells me what to do! ![]() Heeey, it's a puppy! *pats Dogmeat* ![]() Gizmo got what the fat ass was asking for! ![]() Well, someone has a high opinion of themselves. ![]() Tycho bites the dust after the loan guy gives me lip, may his corpse be desecrated in peace.![]() This doesn't bode well at all, not in the slightest. Ian bites the dust after he runs away like a pansy, sadly he can't outrun bullets.![]() Here lies Quiana, his corpse bullet-ridden and pissed upon. Jam it back in, in the dark.

Time for a new character, Critin, he's based on a critical sharpshooter that I've wanted to make for a while, let's hope he does better than poor Quiana.
![]() ![]() And so it begins, rats versus gun isn't very fair, for them. ![]() Criticals, I likey! Hopefully these crits will hit much harder. ![]() That has got to smart, critical to the eyes. ![]() Free stuff is awesome, I found 122 caps in that bag and an extra gun with ammo. ![]() I love verbose text mode, sure it spams your chat, but it is so satisfying when you do a great critical. ![]() The strain could kill me! Healing hurts you as you heal. ![]() Hi Ian, nice to see you, again X.X ![]() I got lucky and encounted this overturned Nuka-Cola truck, complete with a whopping 10765 bottle cap crate. Yay for special encounters! ![]() Bob's Used Cars, great for insanity, awesome for weapons. This I encountered on the same leg of my trip to Junktown, which got me the Red Rider BB Gun, one of the highest critical guns in the game. ![]() I save Killian, and get my hunting rifle, go me. ![]() Here's where it goes bad, Ian's shot wings the bar wench and kills her in a shot, and the whole town gangs down and starts beating me and my team up. Both Ian and Dogmeat bite it, and then![]() Here lies Critin, killed by angry villagers after a bar wench gets her due payment. There's nowhere I can't reach.

Here comes my next attempt, another melee build with a unique HTH perspective, using only fist-weapons like the knuckles and later, spiked knuckles and aiming for high random criticals involving no targeting, just speed punching.
![]() These are her interesting stats, having been a pain to balance properly. Shortly after leaving the vault I ran across the Nuka-Cola truck, again, seems like that thing is blessed to my 10 luck chars. ![]() Her doctoring skill is off to a slow, but good start. Those scorpians didn't stand a chance though, and I completely thrashed them. ![]() After going through vault 15, and returning back to Shady, I went to Junktown and attempted to talk with Sharkie at the bar, which led to the entire gang going hostile on me and then getting their faces beat in. Dogmeat and Ian are with me at this time. ![]() I get the doctor mad at me and then procede to beat their faces in much like the Skulz. I also didn't show, but Gizmo has been killed and amusingly, Dogmeat hit the last blow on him. ![]() Dogmeat bit the dust with a 51 damage burst to the face, and then Tycho takes one too many AP rounds to the chest. I defeated the loan punks, but sadly loosing Tycho was a major blow to my morale, as I had just bought him 200 shotgun shells.![]() I meet the leader of the underground mutants and retrieve the lost pump parts after running around quite a bit and blowing apart some rats. ![]() Well, there's a lot that happened before this. The mutant guards at the watershed entrance spotted my lame attempt to sneak in, then the leader blew Ian apart with a critical laser hit to his torso. I ran off and used a manhole cover in the lower-left to dodge underground, then came up with sneak on and ran around the guards, who were now standing in the street instead of blocking my path to the waterpump. I then unlocked and freed the prisoner ghoul, repaired the waterpump, and went down this cover. (Note I also talked to Set, who is the leader of the ghouls up on the surface to get the kill the mutants and we ignore you deal)![]() Hey, what do you know, the tunnel leads to a vault, where all these lovely ghouls came from. Downstairs, how much you want to bet they have a water chip? ![]() This perk, is probably one of the greatest in melee combat! (Still down in the level 3 of Necropolis vault at this point) ![]() We've got the water chip, and I'm about to punish those ghouls for 1 AP per punch. Funtime! ![]() With 1 AP a punch, I walk upstairs and procede to punish these mutants for killing Ian. Beating supermutants with your knuckles never felt so great. The leader is the one with the black armor on to my right, he dropped me a laser rifle. ![]() I return to my vault, where I'm lauded as a hero, and gain a chunk of experience. However, the overseer decides that, guess what, something's gotta be done about these mutants that scared him shitless. ![]() Coming across a man in the hub that sends me to his farm to clear it of raiders, I come across the one thing I had really been searching for, THE SPIKED KNUCKLES *heavenly music plays*. Time to punish these fools with spiked fury! ![]() Decker sends me to silence this poor merchant, who never saw the spikes coming to meet his head, nor his wife's. His guards posed a challenge getting out, but with some stimpacks I managed to beat them down. ![]() Now this encounter I've heard about, but never had before in Fallout. They have on the alien corpses, a laser pistol (the most powerful laser gun in the game) and a felt painting. I sold the pistol btw, for a cool 10k caps, since I have no use for it. ![]() I finally decide to pay the Brotherhood a visit, and get assigned to retreive some high-tech item from "The Glow", a radioactive hole in the dirt. Said comment drives home the guard's disbelief in the elder's "quest" for me. ![]() There's that mean deathclaw I heard about, doesn't look mean anymore does it? (It took me a good 8 turns to beat it down, averaging 6 hits and then my last four AP to use stimpacks directly from inventory per turn) *Extra note, the addiction is from using a rad-away to rid myself of the radiation I had leftover for the glowing ghouls, as that's WHY they glow* ![]() I discovered a dying supermutant, who mumbled something about the father, and his datadisc, which contained where the caravans from the hub were vanishing to. (They were being taken north, to the outpost where mutants were being manufactured) ![]() Well, off to the glow I go! So far south, and sooo evil looking a crater, isn't it? ![]() Down I go, I also encountered the squished peasant in the giant footprint (who has a cloaking bay) before I arrived, and chugged two rad-x pills to bring me to 100% radiation resistance, as the geiger counter was screaming. ![]() I go down through the first few floors, and find the generator downstairs, along with a great deal of weapons and ammo, half of which is too heavy to carry out. Starting the generator up allows me to use this elevator now. ![]() Man, punching solid steel really seems to be quite painful, for them. That was probably one of the most powerful criticals I've done in melee ever without a powerfist or ripper. This is the only floor I did not kill the robots before turning on the power, as you can only get to this floor when there is power. ![]() I find the combat armor on the experimentation floor inside this locker, giving me some nice resistances and armor bonuses, as well as making me look cool. Shortly afterwards I head upstairs and work back towards the Hub to sell off some of the really high value weapons that I won't use. After buying some books, I headed into the slums and attempted to kill the guards off that were guarding the brotherhood captive. Sadly, the combat shotgun dealt a horrific burst to my face with ended in instant death, thus I have no pictures other than this, ![]() Here lies Katari, who took several slugs to the face through her visor. This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.
