I have to say that this FFXII is by miles the best of ALL the series. The battle system , the graphics and the Story line are really good , the Story line might not be as great as FFVII but is great anyway I can expend ages fighting without getting bored which is what you need for enjoy a RPG game

My top 3 :

FF XII
FF Tactics
FF VII

Jam it back in, in the dark.

I still prefer the Jap voices.

Omg soo true!

Im still not convinced about Fran's voice its sounds too childish if you know what I mean cos the Jap version is more like a mature Woman than being a teen :/

As well, finally got to try out the FFXII demo and I thought it was quite alright actually. It pretty much played out as expected from watching all those in game movies, so that's okay.
sorry when you say DEMO you mean the Jap one of the english one?

FFXIII looks like a devil may cry game, i hope it's different or the change it
Great! I will probably say that to complete the game 100% you will need at least 180 hours no less :/ me thinks... Im still playing it and I will recomend it to anyone!

Because when people buy the game and the 2nd they do when they've just moved an inch in the game yet they come here to rant. I just find it really funny, that it's really ridiculous
the other thing is I like the other voices and I think they are just fine but THAT ACCENT for Ashe is hilarious! and Frans voice is like watching a character taken straight out from the teletubbies loool

Yeah, so in brief, having that old man (I'm assuming you're talking about this guy: Emperor Gramis) sound like Gandalf makes sense. At least SE could put that much effort in the NA release.
actually I lovvvve it cos the voice fits very well the character.

well Ive had enough with the JAP version of this game I got almost everything I only missed The Strongest Halbert ( or Zodiac Spear ) and the Sagitaria weapon . ( time played 521 hours ) im well pissed off I didnt get a thing in henne mines

before I start playing the english version did anyone managed to get Strongest H?

there is list here where explains what NOT to do if you want to get the strongest halbert

Quote:
Atk +150, spear

Location 1 - Necrohol of Nabudis, middle section.
The small round area at the central passage, there are 16 treasure
chests. It's in the second last teasure.

Requirement - Do not open the treasure chest in front of the old man (Daran)
house in Rabanastre Downtown.
- Do not open the Elixir chest in Rabanastre Palace.
- Do not open the treasure chests in Nalbina Dungeons inside the
room where you get back your inventory.
- Do not open the 16 treasure chests in Phon Coast South-East
section.
===== > Do not open the treasure chest in front of the old man (Daran)
house in Rabanastre Downtown

which one? there are 2 of them out of the "house". one on the left and the other in front of the house

===== > Do not open the Elixir chest in Rabanastre Palace

where is it?

===== > Do not open the treasure chests in Nalbina Dungeons inside the
room where you get back your inventory.

ultra easy. no probs with this one

===== > Do not open the 16 treasure chests in Phon Coast South-East
section

the question : is it NONE of them?

Thanks for your time!

Oh, and Saga, don't open any of those chests at all if you want to get the Zodiac Spear the easy way.
Thank you very much for your answer.

I expent more than 140 hours trying to get it from henne mines and I got to the point where I just had enough ( enough is enough )

I just started the US version which is quite exciting! even thou is the same sodding thing. the voices seem to be well louder than the jap vers.

are there any new bits in the game or is it all the same?

Thumbs up

Saga, AFAIK, the only difference between the U.S. and Japanese versions of FFXII is that Omega Mark XII has far less HP. There may be some more differences, but I haven't seen nor heard of them.
Really? thats quite cool actually cos I got abit stressed ad tired for the amount of time I spent fighting with the last mob monster ( cant remember the name .. is it Yazmat :/ ) + the dragon of doom ( the one by arcadia city I think ) they werent hard at all but squarenix could have done them more exciting cos is just boooooring fighting and fighting with monsters having such a ridiculous amount of HP U.U

Thanks.!

Just a couple questions-
1) How long did it take you to beat Yiazmat and what level were your characters at?
2) The Dragon of Doom? Is that the Hell Wyrm or a different monster?

Thanks.

1) it took me 3 hours and something ( 3 and a half I would say ) everyone in level 99 in one go . this monster is really easy only If you have equiped all your characters with absorb ( cant spell sorry ) antidark ( yamazit if a fan of dark magic specially when you are behind him he will keep doing this big purple bubble ).

is hell wyrn the same dragoon that we're talking about? I mean the one im talking about is the one which you can only encounter if you open the door in clockwise or some shit like that.

excuse the english but I have spanish- Jap and english in my head and it IS indeed a pain in the ass lol

That and getting 5 level 3 quickenings is insane. Other than that, the game is as good as done, but I'm not quitting when I'm this close to getting Order of Ambrosia
as far as I know you do not need to complete your bestiary at %100 in order to get a rank of Order of Ambrosia . I got it in the jap version and as far as I remember I was still missing monster in my bestiary when I got tthis Rank.... unless is diferent that the US version which I doubt.

You know, to be honest with you i dont really find the gambit system that useful personally. I mean, the only gambits i have is Ally status KO>Arise for every character and for the one whse got the thief's cuffs i got nearest enemy>steal. Thats about it. Got through the game without any problems so far
Gambits are just completly pointless I find them really boring and they take the fun of the game -unless you want your character to do everything for you.... I played it all along without using gambits AT ALL. I enjoy using the commands by myself . IMO I dont see the point of it in the game.

I was speaking idiomatically.

I can understand not using gambits if you're playing the game on Wait Mode, but gambits are pretty much the key to surviving in Active Mode.
I play on active mode and let me tell you Gambit is just another bit in the game thats all. not a very important thingy from how I see it and from my experience and I didnt have a problem at all during the game - is like playing any FF in active mode ....as how I felt it.

Quote:
I couldn't agree more here. For some of the bigger fights not having the gambit system would draw them out and it would become very very tedious and annoying.
I didnt have a problem I found it alot easier and cool :/ - is like playing any other FF ....but the diference in this one is that you have this extra "help" which is the gambit. ( when I destroyed Yamaizt I didnt need any gambit I found it alot easier to kill him cos I knew who was he attacking and what he was gonna do in the other hand if you activate gambit you know what are you doing but you dont actually know what is he going to do or how to scape from it cos youve got something already plan that doesnt apply to everthing . I can see people changing their gambit over and over again for soem of this bosses - I didnt need to do that )

Quote:
As you said, I haven't heard of anyone fully automating their characters in boss fights, or trickier monsters. There's simply too much for the enemies to throw at you, plus the gambits (while being rather thorough) don't let it get that far. I'll give you an example in a second.
wait mode /active mode whatever is NOT hard at all playing it without gambits - I think is more of a challenge is just like playing any other ff but without this extra help. give it a go is fun!

I dont know to be honest I think is just like playing any FF.... xD

Im in lushu mines killing "calaberas" lol

So I'm about to go do the Hell Wyrm fight. I'm at level 79 right now so I don't know if that is too low or not but we'll see. I think i read somewhere that the only bad things about the fight are the fact that his HP is really high and that he often casts reverse? Is all that true and should I grind a bit before fighting?
you are in well enough level there . I killed him when I was around 63 mind you it took me ages but I got all my equipement in the "secret" store in deadlands. those Shields that the little monster offers you protect you from anything to be honest.

Does anyone in here uses any of those random damage Hammers?

The Feywood. Even then, those bastards are hard to coax out. I managed to get them to appear by clearing the map and zoning a few times. If you don't kill them fast enough, they'll start leveling themselves above and beyond the levels of Henne Mine enemies. It's not fun fighting a level 99 enemy, I'll tell you that much.
the problem in henne is not the level of each enemy ... is THE AMOUNT of bats + ghosts that comes after you! is just OBSCENE I still remember going there for the first time in order to get Zodiac and I was SO proud and happy about my 87 level and THOSE bastards kicked my ass badly is not fair having 5 or 6 bats coming towards you or 4 ghosts doing death to you all the time thats when I went bonkers and I went up on level to 99. mind you i was quite exciting lol I like changelles ( cant spell sorry lol )
