I liked the Koopa Kids personas on the Mario cartoons. Kootie was stuck up. Hip & Hop were like twins and finished each others sentances. Bully was a bully. Kookie was an inventor. Cheatsie cheated people. Big mouth talked a lot - and fast.
The Mario 3 cartoon used nick names instead of the ones from Mario 3 though. Jam it back in, in the dark.

You can merge the cartoon names and call them this:
Larry "Cheatsie" Koopa Morton "Big Mouth" Koopa Jr. Wendy "Kootie Pie" O Koopa Ludwig "Kookie" Von Koopa Roy "Bully" Koopa Iggy "Hip" Koopa Lemmy "Hop" Koopa There's nowhere I can't reach.

The reason why Baby & Jr. exist is because they wanted to add more characters to be able to pick from in games like Mario Kart Double Dash, Mario Golf Toadstool Tour, Mario Tennis Power Tour, etc.
They could not simply add one Koopa kid and leave all the rest out. I do hate how we don't see the koopa kids anymore but you have to figure thats why Jr and baby exist. This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

All I know is that Bowser must have got really busy ... if you know what I mean.
I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body?

Maybe Bowser Jr. was the only one to go with the mom over the 80's and 90's then in the 00's when he was introduced to being a char in the video games, apparently the mom didn't want him anymore and gave him to Bowser.
I was speaking idiomatically.
