You guys do know that IRC is about as much a P2P system then our My Stuff forum, right?

My point was that IRC is not meant for file exchange, it just has the possibility of setting up a DCC server from which people can access your files, and mirc will advertise the trigger to that server in the channel you set it up to. Which is about as much P2P as the people in our My Stuff forum who set up their own FTP server and then drop the link in that forum. Except that most IRC clients have some kind of DCC server function built-in. It's a one-way file transfer, not true peer to peer file exchange. There's nowhere I can't reach. |
