It's not that surprising; Morrison expressed a love for the 70's incarnation of Batman way back when he started his JLA run.
As far as the Joker is concerned, have we all forgotten New X-Men's first issue? He's once again doing something edgy and unexpected to symbolize that HIS Batman run will be unconventional. Which, for Morrison, is kind of conventional. Jam it back in, in the dark. |
