What with all the "Dogs have no personality" crap? Dogs can have a hell of a personality if you let it bloom and aren't one of those idiots who need something to test their authority on at all times.
Also, while you can kinda talk about "cats" as a whole, I find it hard to talk about every races of dogs as being uniform. Differences in personalities between races are huge.
I like both cats and dogs. I like the mysterious behaviours of cats, the way they play and the occasional proofs of love they give you. What I dislike about them is their cruelty and the fact you sometimes feel they belong to who feed them most. I'm talking about those cats who gets food all over the neighbourhood from other people and torture helpless rodents for hours.
As for dogs, well, you can run, fight, play all kind of games with them. A dog can truly become a companion of every moments. Although he will always naturally consider at least one of the persons of the family as being above him, it's amusing to witness how they sometimes feel with young children and act like they have a responsability to educate them. Dogs can truly become an active part of a family if they're given the chance, while cats always keep their distances at some point. Oh yeah, the ways dogs look at you too. While cats always keep the somewhat confictual eye contact thing, dogs actually like to communicate through eyes contacts with humans. I always try to make eye contacts with dogs I cross in the street. Pretty amazing how you sometimes feel some not only look back at you but change their facial expression to something that looks like a smile.
But yeah, to me dogs are also linked to the countryside life and all the running around in nature. I don't see myself having a dog without a large garden and a house at the countryside. So yeah, ferrets all the way in the small appartment I'm in right now. The day I move to my dream house though, it will be dogs and cats.
Jam it back in, in the dark.
