Calling the "Greatest Generation" drafted killers of the state is an effort of deconstructing the idol-worship that is placed upon World War 2 veterans. It's not a marginalisation of their accomplishments, but an admonishment of the injustice of war and in particular the coercing of citizens to fight them.
We don't give the same respect to Korean and Vietnam veterans because they didn't win.

Since they are of the opinion that the United States shouldn't have participated in the war, they wouldn't have any problem speaking of World War II veterans in openly contemptuous terms like "drafted killers".
