Unless I'm doing analysis, I listen through a CD once and then turn it off. If I find it remotely annoying or unduly repetative, I'll listen to whatever the thematic material is and then just shut it down. This often happens when I listen to commercial rap. I find it interesting for the first minute and then I become very sick of it.
