You have inspired me to be social again. I so intend on buying this in Maine.

Just throwing this out there, but with a sufficient number of towns, if we posted indices of the turnip prices each Sunday morning, we could travel to the town with the lowest buying prices. Then if we update those indices each subsequent day, we could be reasonably assured to be able to find the town with the highest selling price. We could all earn significant returns, and potentially transform seed money of 100-200k bells into millions.

I intend to post my price tomorrow, although I have no idea if I'll be available to invite people to purchase there.

How ya doing, buddy?

My buying price is 95 bells. Anyone have lower?

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

I added Daravon and Philia. I can open my town for internets if no one else has a lower price. If the average is 100, then the chances are good you can still get at least a 5% return.

I need to figure out how to get invited to strangers' towns. I need to head out, so I'm just going to dump everything I have into the 95 bell turnips. I'll leave the town open so people can visit.

My flower gardens are shit because I didn't get a chance to do anything with them except water them two days ago.

How ya doing, buddy?

Nice. My gate is open for, probably the next hour or so. I have to go get something to eat and then I'll probably head out into the city with Lucas for most of the day.

Turnips are selling for 47 bells in my town. I hope their being so depressed is evidence of an enormous spike later on.

Lol, speaking of, someone made a record low of 42 today too. It was god damn hilarious.
Mine are now 43, afternoon. I am optimistic though. The market can't tank for everyone. Wednesday or Thursday will be awesome.

Also, re: island fruit, when you do the tours, you spawn randomized islands which have all sorts of different fruits. I've picked up coconuts, lychee, mango, durians and lemons. Also bananas. It's to the point I'm not even sure it's worth it planting them all.

The islands ARE persistent though, tied to your town. So I owe Tritoch a basket of coconuts for the tree I murdered.

Prices change twice a day, once upon opening in the morning and again at noon. Ben, are your prices from the morning or afternoon?

My prices are at 40 this morning. I am optimistic that this is following the big spike pattern and this afternoon or tomorrow it will be huge. We will see. If anyone gets prices above 200 today I'd be interested in hearing about it.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

Is that the practice? If you're selling in someone else's town they get 10%? That seems steep.

I can understand some form of consideration if it's a total stranger fucking up his friends list so other people can take advantage of his prices, but 10% of your gains means substantially reduces your margins if you're playing in the low risk area of 50-100% increases,

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Props for your help. I don't think I'll do that again though. I feel bad for the people who missed out because I basically cut in line with your help. Also, it was pretty intense serious-business mode.

I'm still going to post prices tomorrow for people who haven't sold. But yeah, I want a solid gold toilet now.

the problem is the interface is really limiting. you can only stack 100 turnips per inventory slot, so if you invest 1M bells then you're looking at approximately 9 full inventories. That's a lot of trips back and forth to the locker in someone's town. Especially if the internet swarms like it did.

I was speaking idiomatically.

Acer,

I was actually thinking about arbitrage and time traveling this morning.

Let's say you are friends with a guy that's across the dateline. You could buy turnips on Sunday and travel to his town on Monday, sell them at that price and then return to your town and buy more turnips.

Take that a step further. On Sunday morning in your primary account, take your other account and time travel to find a good turnip selling price. Now travel between your primary town and alternate town liquidating turnips for 4 hours straight.

A full inventory carries 1600 turnips. Assume you can cycle your inventory (buy, sell and buy again) in 10 minutes. Assuming you could find a 500% price difference, you could make ~5M bells an hour until the turnip-lady leaves.

I'm not sure if it'd be more effective to fill up your storage with turnips and cycle that, or just move back and forth with a full inventory.

If you cycled storage as well, a full storage is 18,000 turnips, which at 500% gains is 9M bells.

There is apparently an achievement for saving 1,000,000,000 bells.

My town's turnips were 92 today, so they ticked upward. We'll see what Friday's are.

I also thought this was worth sharing. Was playing with Ben earlier, and there is a section of beach cut-off from the rest of the town. My house is on a cliff overlooking the beach.

I got to look on, from the cliff, as my buddy fishes way down below.

Spoiler:

Then I see him catch a shark. Go him!

Spoiler:

It made me feel warm and fuzzy to be creepy-watching/taking pictures of the beach-goers from my clifftop mansion.

94 bell purchase price for turnips

Purchased 11,100 turnips for 1,043,400. Heavily leveraged. Fingers crossed!

Thanks for this announcement. I stopped by and fondled the alpine wallpaper, because I also am collecting the alpine set. I think the only piece left that I need is the flooring.

Acer, if you travel back to te same day, is it the same 473 price? Also, did you get my letter? Also, Philia, let's meet up so I can handle your floor. Is there any other alpine thing you need?

It would be awesome if the prices were seeded at the start, once, and therefore fixed for all date-times forever. If that were the case, you could invest time upfront on a whirlwind time-tour of your town to find the best selling price, and then just take tours of people through to the Day of the Great Turnip Bubble, July 14, 2582 for crazy profit.

You could expand that too, to store and island inventory.

Imagine, Acer. You could run a time-space retail service if you had a catalog of the store inventories over the years. Someone could say "I want a modern wood stove" and you could say "yes sir, of course, come with me to Nortstar, 1875 when the first model was placed on the market."

You could sell first edition everything.

Additional Spam:
I kind of want to experiment now also.

How ya doing, buddy?

That's too bad. Space-time tourism sounded really really awesome. Also, I have a cabana bookcase and exotic chair for you at some point.

I'm looking for mermaid stuff. Specifically, mermaid dresser, mermaid screen, mermaid table, mermaid vanity, mermaid wardrobe, and mermaid light. If these show up in your islands, I'd love to hear about it.

Also, Acer, you're welcome

My town's turnip prices are 354 is anyone still is looking to sell. Town is open to all friends, shit on the ground is yours. Leave the turnip alone. Also, you can take from the trees, but if you take perfect cherries, plant a new tree nearby!

Sorry folks, combination of work and xenoblade, but mainly work have distracted me from animal crossing. I touched my town for the first time in two days yesterday, and as I just got home, I'm not planning on doing AC chores tonight either.

All of my townspeople will leave, my flowers will die and the weeds will overrun the once great Sparkle hegemony.
