My work tried getting all the employees to bike once a week. Since I don't believe any one has the power to draw the sun closer to the earth, combined with record highs dating as far back as 1908 OH, not to mention predictions made by Al Gore in his ridiculous fear mongering slide show have had at least 30 holes poked in them showing them to be false, well you know kinda hard to believe, but less polution is good, so hey I bike every so often.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

So, basically, the answer is, "no." Having the employees bike to work once a week doesn't have anything to do with work itself.

On with the topic:

I work two jobs, and both do different things to stay green. Unfortunately, only one does the cardboard recycling, but I'm working on it.

Both have the same idea about energy. Thermostats are to be set no lower than 70 degrees, and energy-saving bulbs are used.
Actualy my reply was exactly how I wanted it thank you very much...

Now on with the topic, emloyers asking or even giving perks to employees to get them to ride to work is cutting down on polution and something employers do to move towards being green.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

Like nutty said, whether or not global warming exists or whatever, it REALLY doesn't hurt to make efforts to be more green.

I honest-to-goodness try at my work. There aren't many employees, and I bet you people can guess who wastes the most in the office.

I am constantly turning off faucets that are left dripping in both the bathroom and in the kitchen area. Perpetually turning off lights that are left blazing in empty rooms for no good reason.

I try to re-use backsides of paper (chopped in quarters) for notes instead of using too many post-its or throwing out paper and things like that. We don't have a paper recycling program in town, so it's up to us to do it.

Oh hey I am with you 100%. I would rather people be educated on the benefits of being green, Cleaner air, water reusing stuff and saving money, fuel etc. Versus fear mongered by half cocked science.

My work lets people leave an hour early from work on fridays for every day that person rides a bike. If a person signs a promise to bike durring the whole summer they get a buss pass free durring the summer.

As far as while at work they use really crummy paper towels for the bathrooms!!

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.
