Ooh ooh, I have one! I haven't played NiGHTS 2, and I know people complained about it a lot, but one thing about it is absolutely as good as the original--the music. It has a high risk of turning men into girls, but if that means listening to music this lovely, give me a dress and call me Shirley. This track in particular is an amazingly intricate construction and superbly catchy and fun. It makes me want to buy the game just so I can listen to the sound test mode.

Nomination:
Composer: Naofumi Hataya, Tomoko Sasaki
Title: Aqua Garden - Chase Mission
Game: NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams game rip
Date: 2007/2008

I'll vote later, I hope.

How ya doing, buddy?

Okay, I have a bit of a weak spot for Japanese happy hardcore when Beatmario or DJ SHARPNEL do it, but it's very hit-or-miss, and in the Sky is well off the mark. Egh.

Knight Gear is decent, it reminds me a bit of arcade music which it may be, never heard of Gran Chaser. Anyway, enjoyable stuff.

Up next is one of my least favorite composers, and BOOK OF DAYS is bad even by his standards. His staple muffleverb that makes everything he does sound like a cheap general midi arrangement by a 15 year old who just downloaded Cubase is present, but the composition is a complete mess and actually annoys me, instead of merely boring me like his usual. I don't know how anyone could possibly enjoy this enough to nominate it.

Neverland Tundra is an okay track, although the arp gets pretty annoying after a while. Melody's nice though, it's not the worst thing ever.

Mars Landing reminds me a bit of Lumines I guess, except it's not as quirky as most of the tracks from that game. It's pretty groovy though, not too bad.

Space Quest's Closing Medley has a pretty good 80s vibe going and it's a nice theme, and it's a bit quirky which is always nice. Some of the changes don't work so well to me, it's a bit chaotic overall, but I guess it's helped by a bit of nostalgia for Space Quest (I played it with PC speakers and never heard it like this, though).

This Holland track reminds me too much of music I'm supposed to be making instead doing SotW, so I don't like it much. It's just really generic, and even being titled after my home country isn't gonna do it any favors.

Seems like the best was saved for last, as this Wiz'n'Liz track is superb! Fun and good melodies, sweet sweet FM synths, and so on. Good stuff. Name Entry gets my vote!

Scores:
3 points - Wiz 'n' Liz: The Frantic Wabbit Wescue (Sega Genesis Game Rip) - Name Entry
1 point - Gran Chaser - KNIGHT GEAR
1 point - R - Racing Evolution (Game Rip) - Mars Landing
1 point - Space Quest III: The Pirates of Pestulon (PC Game Rip) - Closing Medley

There's nowhere I can't reach.
