This is just called "Sega Rally" in Europe where confusion still triumphs over truth and democracy every single day.
Anyway, this was certainly my most played game in 2007, I only bought it cause it was something like $30, but damn if I'd known how much fun it was I would've paid full price. Well, no I wouldn't since that deal was there, but it would've been worth it at least!
It looks incredible, it plays like a dream, and it's just really Sega-Rally-ish. And that's a good thing because the original Sega Rally stands the test of time as one of the most fun games ever made.
My favorite thing about it aside from the awesome graphics would have to be the incredible rumble. I don't know if it's even better on the PS3 with the dual rumble thing (I heard that it is, but I find it hard to imagine), but "even" the 360's rumble manages to convey with a certain level of confidence the difference between a muddy road and a muddy road with a previous car's tracks. You seriously feel the track under your tires.
I recommend playing until you unlock the faster--and really goofy--cars (you can already drive them in the quick race mode), cause those are really awesome. The engine is far from realistic, and with some practice you can have some of the fasters cars literally flying over half the track.
The only complaint I could level at it is that I feel like the game could've used a few more tracks, but it's generally just really awesome and a total surprise to me.
EDIT: Oh I forgot to mention one of the Savannah tracks has animals. Like, you know... Zebras and shit. Sweet!
Jam it back in, in the dark.
