My girlfriend is more or less a gamer like me--she mostly plays Shadow of the Colossus and God of War and Katamari, etc.
She likes the classics, too... I think. I think there are more female gamers than "we guys" think--they just play different games than us. Consoles don't really appeal to them but they will play Bejewelled and Tetris online. I estimate that Puzzle Pirates is over 75% girls. I suppose the DS goes some way to drawing girls in for console gaming (at least quite a few of the games seem to be aimed at girls), but I have never seen a girl with a DS so I wouldn't know how effective it is. Jam it back in, in the dark. |
