Yes, you will, since the Core 2 Duo chips require DDRII RAM (which necessitates a newer chipset, etc.). Not sure how the VIA chipsets stack up against the new Intel ones. I'd look around at some typical PC benchmarking sites and see which boards they recommend for the new Conroe chips like the one you won.
