1. Martin Luther King. Imagine how much more he could have done with a full life. Assassination blows. Also I wanted to have at least one non-musician on my list.
2. Jimi Hendrix. Right before he died he was planning a collaboration with Miles Davis. There was so much more he could have done.
3. Buddy Holly. My favorite out the big three that died in that plane crash in 1959. He died before the Beatles, Hendrix, etc. So much wasted potential.
4. Frederic Chopin. I know he had a longer life than Schubert, but I would kill to hear what Chopin could have done after honing his orchestral writing.
5. Bill Evans. My favorite jazz player and composer by far, even if I don't really play the piano. Was only 51 when he died, and many argue that he was playing his best in his final years.
