What song evokes the most emotion in you?
And why?
The biggest one for me is by a song called "When Paul Sparks" by Copeland. I've always been drawn to songs that tell some kind of story or paint a picture of a situation, as opposed to "I miss/love/need/hate you," although there are plenty of great songs along those lines. This song is a "situation piece" about a man waiting for his lover to wake up at her bedside in a hospital, imagining what it'll be like when she wakes. There's a lot of great imagery in the song's lyrics, but my favorite lines are these: "I'll be ready on that evening, when you're starved for my attention, And you'll say, 'Wake now, sweet prince, there's a brilliant sky above, And a jealous moon in love, and they are starved for our attention'." Right after those lines, at about 2:45, for the first time in the song, the big rock guitars come in and I just get chills every time I listen to that part. I don't know if it's the poignancy of the situation, the passionate delivery, or the imagery of the lyrics, but this song kills me.
