Legend of Mana sucks balls, VG. It's repetitive, and a fucking raping of the Mana name. It is nothing but a sidescrolling slasher with no innovations or entertainment value. Too fucking bad for you. Figures you'd like it though, it, like a lot of the things you like, is meant for people under 14.

And also, a Lewinsky joke? Thanks a lot for the topical reference there, Leno. God, you just suck so hard.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

Seriously, mate. You just went after a game with one of the most intricate story lines that Square has ever done. You're going to argue for what, FF VII, maybe VI if you want to seem old school? The only Square game with a story line even beginning to approach that of Vagrant Story in terms of complexity and depth is Final Fantasy Tactics. If you want to say you don't like the game, fine, that's your call, but don't go after its strongest point you fucking prat.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

The moment I saw that scene I powered off the console and returned the game (it was borrowed), yes the story further down maybe be the best ever but I just didn't feel like listening to it... probably related to my FF8 story trauma :lolsign:

Anyway if you payed attention to my posts you should know that I don't care about stories that much, IMHO most games shouldn't have a story to begin with, that's why I like old school so much, it's fun play with no nonse and the story resumes to a screen saying 'Press start button'. For one I bitched VJoe like hell but I haven't said a word about the story 'cause... well... I don't care, it's lame but a side scroller doesn't need a story it only needs a lot off ass kicking!! VJoe is one of those game that would've got away with a 'press start button' story.

Of course other games absolutely need a story like Shenmue (lame beggining, the cliche bad dude kills dad but god like after it) or MGS.

EDIT: Same goes to you Denicalis, I don't care about stories that much. You can argue that if I don't care then I have no problem playing Vagrant, but somehow seeing such a lame scenes just made me sick... argh looks like watching Titanic all over again. (I bet someone will come after me because of the Titanic movie reference.)
Nah, mate. If you don't like stories, than stuff like VS really wouldn't grab you. It's very narrative driven. I thought you were slicing on the story of VS on the basis of you being a story fan. I disagree completely with you on the concept of stories in games, as they're my main reason for playing, but that's just personal taste, and there's no use squabbling over that.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

I stop reading it after 2 minutes and then after beating the baddie I went to GFaqs to read that part of the script :lolsign:
See, the first game I cut my teeth on was FF for the NES. I fell in love instantly. This was narrative, it was fantasy... I'm a huge RP nerd. My collection is expansive and almost all RPG. I play -for- the story, though a bad battle system will ruin the experience, I won't lie.

So, ummm yeah, I'm good at saving money to buy chocolate cookies.
Fuck off. Double Dash was AWESOME.

I'm with you, South Park version of Kevin Smith. Story is number one for me, but when a battle system just sucks, it's impossible to really enjoy the experience.

I haven't liked a Dragon Quest game yet, so I didn't bother picking it up.

Honestly Suikoden III could have been much more, but why the hell with the 3 parties of 2? Not only that, but they MUST make each party "mutually exclusive", ie, one party cannot use a potion on another party.

But Q says S II is good. LOL if I could actually find a copy.
Suikoden II is godlike, mate. Which is why III was such a disappointment. Suikoden I is also really good. III and IV are both pretty damned shaky, though.

I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body?
